Re: Piracy
(Anonymous) 2012-10-21 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)Re: Piracy
(Anonymous) 2012-10-21 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)Exactly this. Before pirating was a viable option, it's not like I randomly walked into stores and bought random cd's, books or dvd's. Generally I would borrow these things from friends or the library, and if I liked them I would go out and buy them,
Replace 'borrow' with 'download', and you've got exactly what I do now, except I'm actually exposed to way more stuff because I'm not reliant on whatever my friends have/what's on tv. I can give anything a try now.
Re: Piracy
(Anonymous) 2012-10-21 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)This is why I think the entertainment industry needs to learn to work with pirating rather then be so adamant about being against it. There are even a lot of series that owe their international fanbase to pirating. Those fans do end up spending the money for the series when it is made available in their country.
