Me too, anon! I thought Shawn and Joy were great together and have absolutely no feelings at all for Shawn and Jules. I ship Jules and Lassie something fierce though and I really wish Mira would come back and sweep Gus up again. I thought they were actually really cute and never saw what the problem with Mira was.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with like zero feelings for Shawn and Jules. They don't irk me... but they don't really do "it" for me.

I am so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! I just started a rewatch of the series because Netflix out season 6 up, and maaaan I always knew Juliet and Shawn were gonna happen, but I honestly have zero feelings for them.

Mostly because I have zero feelings on Juliet (which makes me sad, because at times she is an awesome character, but her actress does nothing for me)

Actually I have little shipping at all for this show. Except that I want Gus to finally get an awesome girlfriend, because I love him with all my heart.

You just reminded me how much I enjoyed that sequence where "Santa Baby" is playing and Shawn and Joy are both trying to sneak into each other's rooms and hide from Gus at the same time without knowing the other is doing the same thing. Comedies don't do that kind of thing very often any more.

I'm just catching up on season six and I have so many icky feelings about Shawn/Juliet I was actually just thinking about making a secret about them.


And yes, maybe a little of it is being a butthurt shipper (GuJuBees forever!) but I really don't like their relationship, especially not the way it's going now. And then the with her dad? I cannot imagine her finding out Shawn has not only been conning her this entire time but using her and risking her job to keep his con going ever ending well.

Yeah, I know where you're coming from. I kind of like the way Juliet and Shawn play onscreen, actually, but I find a lot of things off-putting about it in terms of the broader story. For one thing, it just really seems like the whole show is leading into that relationship - that this relationship is The Thing. And that's always off-putting, somewhat, and it makes me worry about where they're going to go from here - but ESPECIALLY in combination with the whole "relationship built on a lie" thing, because I just cannot conceive how they're going to resolve that plot in a positive way. I really can't. Something feels really dissonant about a relationship that's this central to the plot and this positively portrayed where we know it's built on a lie and we know that one person would be super angry if they ever found it. It's like, how is this supposed to be The Big Happy Thing if this huge negative Sword of Damocles is hanging over the head of the relationship?

You're right about it being wrong that Shawn is still lying to her, especially since the point has been made in a few episodes that Jules does not like liars.

I also find it weird that Juliet even believes he is a psychic still, I know it's the premise of the show but lately I've felt like she's the only major character in the department who believes. Lassiter has stated he doesn't believe Shawn is psychic, the Chief seems to be more concerned with Shawn's talent as a detective and I don't really think she believes it, you know Shawn's Dad knows he's not psychic, so why does Juliet believe so much? I feel like it kind of undermines her intelligence a bit.

Hell, Shawn and Mary Lightly had better chemistry. Shawn and MacIntosh...Shawn and that waitress from the pilot...Shawn and fill in the blank. Joey from Friends had it correct: once two actors sleep together, their chemistry goes to shit.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I know that sometimes that's not the case, but in my experience, it usually is. At any rate, I actually stopped watching Psych in part because I hated how forced and contrived Shawn and Juliet's relationship had become. I do sort of ship them (as part of a Gus/Shawn/Lassiter/Juliet foursome), but he really does have better chemistry with almost every other character on the show.

I haven't watched the show in a while, but I do remember the Christmas episode with Joy and I thought they had great chemistry. Though I mostly shipped Shawn/Gus and Lassiter/Juliet. I don't hate Shawn/Jules but it does nothing for me really.

It is in this way that she dealt with her ordeal, sneaking the tasty treats out of a special pouch she'd sown in her undergarments during those blessed intervals of respite. The reason for which the film could not address the torture, then, is quite obvious: her method of dealing is absurd, and the audience would surely not have bought it.

I think the show overestimates how much the audience cares about Shawn and Juliet, I really don't care for the couple but I've known it was endgame. I watch the show for the friendships not the romance angle though.

I'd also like to complain about the episode where Lassiter fell in love because that was seriously such a dumb ending. Lassiter deserves to be happy but I kind of like bitter Lassiter better.
