I usually like someone before I consider dating them...

My hair, my eyes, my calves and my toes. My boobs are pretty fantastic too, at least to me ;)

Professional badass. Businessy things, like button-down shirts, vests, skirts, slacks, or good jeans, but accessorize with leather boots, trench coats, gloves. Unfortunately, I usually end up looking in the mirror and instead of thinking "badass" I think "goddamn I'm adorable."

To be fair, this might be because I am working at the moment. I tend to dress down more for school, but I'm trying to get away from graphic tees.

I don't even see how people go directly to queerness as creepy? I just see it as BADTOUCH IS CREEPY.

It's not even the first time that Bond has suffered sexual torture at the hands of a man so I don't really get the outrage/panic.

Oh you, with your scorn and your different opinions.

maybe they liked him at first and after a month realized they didn't him that much

it's...not that weird.

by seeing through his disguise

She was sent pictures of him mere hours before they met. She would have had to been stupid to NOT recognize him.

following him home

I'm pretty sure his address is on his Web Site. Again, she would have been stupid not to figure it out if she put any effort into looking.

So, neither of these things required any unusual intelligence on her part.

I'm not fond of those particular armor pieces and wow is he pale but otherwise, he's not bad. Doable imo.

Good luck in your pursuit of porn, OP!

That's my guess. 8|
Seriously though, what could have been. Bardem is such an attractive dude and he keeps taking roles that make him look hilariously awful. I remember him saying that his hair in No Country ensured that he wouldn't get laid until filming was over.

It is a damn shame, yeah. But I think it's a consequence of the fact that every Holmes adaptation now feels a deep and abiding need to be serialized (why, God only knows; it certainly wasn't a characteristic of the original stories). And that demands certain things - it demands a villain (and to have anyone but Moriarty as the main villain would be strange, since there's so little serialization and no other villains who have the status of standing outside of a single case in the way Moriarty does) (even though he's only really in one case).

The Irene Adler thing is less comprehensible. I think it's because - you start out with a few things using her as an important character, and then she becomes a character that the general public is extremely familiar with, and it makes it easier to include her. You know, a bit of a reinforcing loop kind of thing.

I've always liked the Holmesian theory that Milverton was one of Moriarty's pawns, and that Holmes' defeat (such as it was) of Milverton was one of the things which led to the final clash between Holmes and Moriarty. And it does make me wonder why no one has taken that concept up, even in the context of a Moriarty storyline.

Or any of the other excellent Holmes stories that never really get adapted. Now I'm getting all worked up about this.

Re: Socio-economic Class

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Working class. I think class becomes most apparent in fandoms like anime where people buy a lot of pricey merch. Also, any fandom where conventions are a thing, since those tend to be pretty expensive. Or fandoms for bands or even musical theater, since concert/play tickets and travel aren't always cheap.

I have to say, my interest is getting piqued at the creepy thought of adult Loki manipulating the group and pretending to be someone he's not.

Yeah, I had a lot of faith in Gillen as a writer, but now....

I'm a gay woman too and have no inherent problem with a non-straight villain per se. I was looking at it more from the POV of the conservative South American country I'm from (and the articles I read, which were from Latin American media outlets), because my first thought was that all that movie is going to do when it premieres here is reinforce in the minds of the homophobic assholes who surround me that of COURSE the gay/bi villain is going to seduce Bond, not because that particular character is attracted to Bond (and who wouldn't be) but because that's what ALL GAYS DO don'tcha know? So in that sense, it does bother me. I'd rather the first introduction of non-straightness in Bond movies hadn't been through a villain that tries to seduce Bond while holding him captive.

And here's me depressed

By all the people who are actually pretty happy with their bodies. :(

I dress like a socially confused blue collar worker. Who is also 12? IDK

In between my masses and masses of layers (3 shirts and two jackets yesterday wut), Hanes boys t-shirts, baggy jeans, heavy boots, and ugly but practical jackets, are my trendy sweaters and hoodies, my stylish motorcycle jacket, and my form fitting girl shirts.

When combined I'm sure these look horrible. I love it.

Re: The Sims

[personal profile] caecilia 2012-11-10 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
I know you can still back up the files if you install the hard copy but I'm not sure about the cloud storage...I've never done anything like that. I do know there's a lot of online interaction and you can share individual Sims and lots online, so you could download those later, but their traits and skills would be gone.

I'm guessing the store price is the cheaper of the two? I totally understand $12 being a big difference. Personally, I would go for the cheapest option I could find.

This is interesting, since my own experience was kind of different - when we got to Bond's "what makes you think you'd be my first?" most of the (largely male) audience sort of started catcalling and cheering XD I wonder if it's all part of that Gay Bravado thing I referenced a few comments before, though...
