While I can see why, the impact it would have on children would be too tremendous, and possibly result in a lot of crap being fired around the Net.

I didn't know the logic train was still on the rails.

Yep, agreed.

Brave japanese trailer song

(Anonymous) 2012-11-25 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
YES, I know someone else suggested a comm for this, but I don't have an LJ anymore, and I've been looking like crazy for this song.

It's a song from the Brave movie's japanese trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8cLhckSAAw). It starts at 1:25 in the trailer, but if anyone knows what I'm talking about I'd deeply appreciate it.

YES I'VE GOGGLED IT. And I've dug through Two Steps from Hell and Future World Music playlists, with no luck.

Iirc, what Milo and Aarfy did were a little...um...different from blacking out random words in a letter. Of course, it's also been a long time [and many books ago] since I read it, so I can't swear I'm remembering that right.

Re: Favorite musical soundtracks in movies and TV!

(Anonymous) 2012-11-25 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Tried to narrow it down:

Thomas Newman - Stoic Theme (The Shawshank Redemption), Road to Perdition (RtP)
Yoko Kanno - Arcadia (Escaflowne), Piece By Ten (Ghost in the Shell)
Clint Mansell - Stay With Me (The Fountain), Summer Overture (Requiem for a Dream)
Daft Punk - Rinzler (Tron Legacy), C.L.U. (TL)
Joe Hisaishi - Moonlight Flight (My Neighbor Totoro), The Boy Who Drank Stars (Howl's Moving Castle)
Hans Zimmer - Is it Poison, Nanny? (Sherlock Holmes), Mind Heist (Inception)
Danny Elfman - Beetlejuice theme, The Grand Finale from Edward Scissorhands

(Anonymous) 2012-11-25 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
I used to think anyone could learn to draw with practice, but now I'm not so sure.
Maybe it's like music, you know? If you suddenly try to pick it up at age 25 or something, you're never going to be able to do it as well as someone who started as a kid.

+1 to Farewell and its buildup/climax. Jfc.

Comment of the day! :D

Re: It's a large dog and tiny spider day!

(Anonymous) 2012-11-25 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
They're all gorgeous! I love huge dogs (though I'm unfortunately not a fan of the little ones).

The spiders are adorable as well. I've yet to see a jumping spider that isn't, actually.
I had to refrain from squeeing when I saw one yesterday (my brother doesn't like the little guys, for some reason).

Have you considered checking to see if it has an entry on TVTropes?

No, really. It's not a good place to go if you're trying to avoid spoilers (though, neither are reviews) and there's a lot of issues with parts of the userbase, but in my experience it's a good place to find out if a given canon is going to do narrative stuff that I'm interested in.

This secret is so disgustingly black.

Was I the only one hoping to see the booby trap prank work, and Babs get her comeuppance?

No way. I could pass the CMC saving her in the end, but apologizing? No.

Still hoping Scootaloo gets her own episode at some point.

Hey, I'm a PS3 gamer myself, and I also work the night shift, so sometimes I'm at odd hours (I also plan to get DS3). If you're interested in some co-op at some point, PM me and I'll pass along my PSNID.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-25 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I would. I would want the fourth season to be more like season 1 or 2, though. Didn't like season 3 much.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-25 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I vote "I couldn't care less" with a little bit of "I think I'm above the people calling me it" (but only in certain cases).

The problem with your idea is that I can't find anyone who shares every single one of my headcanons. A majority of them, yes, but all of them? Sadly, no, and it's a pretty big deal breaker for me.

I judge people for their headcanons and if you have a terrible ones I find ridiculous I don't really want to bother with you.

Start practicing then. So what if you're not instantly good at it. You have to start from somewhere. Contribute if it really means that much to you.

Re: Brave japanese trailer song

(Anonymous) 2012-11-25 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
It most likely was some random tune composed for the trailer. There are musicians that are hired specifically for trailer music.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-25 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Technically, that's not a portmanteau.

[personal profile] al28894 2012-11-25 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well, let's see...

"Dreaming" from Coraline.

"Forbidden Friendship" and "Coming Back Around" from How To Train Your Dragon.

"Hellfire" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

As for games: Just about most of the soundtracks from Touhou Project.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-25 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry to hear that, OP. I hope your friendship doesn't fall apart from two television shows. =( Here's to hoping your friendship is stronger than that.

BTW I don't understand the extreme levels of feelings people have between Sherlock and Elementary. I like both shows, and I understand it's all in a person's taste so if one show is liked more than another I'm not going to hold it against anyone, but the levels of wank between these two shows is a bit ridiculous. I guess I'll never understand fandom.

Thirding. When the movie aired, I replayed Forbidden Friendship and Coming back Around dozens of times while surfing the Net.

I guess that could be, yeah. It's just that since Two Steps from Hell's music is used for a lot of trailers I was hoping that was the case here.
