Sure are a lot of people in this thread who don't realize not everyone can just plunk down a couple hundred dollars on a new gaming system/game...?

The game was announced at launch. Which was March 2011.

OP has had an ample amount of time to save up for it if they really wanted it.

I wanted a PSP for Crisis Core. So I saved up for it. I had over a years notice. It's not hard to put $10 away a week.

DA. I would generally assume anyone talking about buying a video game can afford to put away 10 dollars a week.

I'm not saying it'd be easy for everyone, but video games are still major (and expensive) luxury items and OP didn't mention money anywhere nor did they seem to have a problem buying the game, so I'm betting they have at least some money and could save up.

$10 a week becomes $40 - 50 a month.
$40 - 50 can do a lot to give you food / necessities / help pay on one of your bills, for some people. Hell, that's an internet or phone connection, or a utility bill, right there.

OP does reek of "first world problems," but you can always wait until a game becomes $20 (or lower) before you buy it, or to want something that you can't afford.
I would certainly like to own my own house, but fuck if I could afford that.

I'm sorry, I have more important things to save up* for than a $250 console and $80 on the single game I want for it

*backup cash, bills, food, debt, fucking christmas presents, a $600 animal emergency that set me back a LOT so no holiday or backup cash for me and everything more important that one console and one game for said console.

No, it's not ample time. Good for you! You make enough money to be able to save up for it. Not all of us have an extra $10 available each week. >:|

I don't know we're you live, but if you live in the USA you should consider shopping somewhere else for your video games. The MSRP of the 3ds is $170 and of the Animal Crossing video game (and most 3ds video games) is $40. You're being overcharged by more than $100, and that's unreasonable.

We understand it but that's just how these things work. A new system comes out and they eventually stop supporting the old one. Why the hell would Nintendo want to make new, big-name games for not the current system?

They're saying they "loathe nintendo" and "want to cry" and while that may be tongue-in-cheek it doesn't really make me feel sorry for OP, sure they have the right to whine but at the end of the day it's something all gamers have had to deal with, we can't all afford every system and we know eventually companies are going to put a game we want on another system.

Plus regardless of how the secret was worded people are going to respond with "Buy a 3ds" because outside of maybe borrowing a friend's, that is the solution to OP's problem. Want to play the new animal crossing? Buy a 3ds. It is not some unsolvable problem, it's just that OP, for whatever reason be it money or hating the new system, doesn't want the 3ds.

It's not Nintendo's fault. If you can't afford a 3DS, you can't play 3ds games. If you can't afford a trip to Vegas, it's not the obligation of the casinos to come to you. Of you can't afford to buy a skateboard, you can't do tricks at the slate park. If you can't afford an iPad/iPhone, you can't play those apps. If you can't afford the hardware to play a game, go play one of the games you can afford to play, don't gripe about the company doing something perfectly legitimate by releasing their game on the platform it can best be played on.

I can't afford a PS3, should I be getting mad at Sony for releasing Playstation Allstars Battlr Royale on their systems instead of the ones I already have? Cause that really doesn't sound like it makes a lot of sense.

Uhhh, but OP isn't saying "Nintendo should give me free stuff," they're just upset that they can't play it. I doubt their disappointment is because they don't understand how businesses work.

You don't understand what the word "loathe" means, do you. Maybe te denotation but not the connotation.

When you loathe someone for something, that's quite a bit stronger than "I wish I coul play it".

What you call "get(ting) freaked out and righteously angry" is really just people actually reason the secret more closely than you are and responding accordingly.

I do, but I also understand what the secret essentially amounts to, and I sort of doubt the OP is really so out of touch that they're absolutely beside themselves with utter seething hatred. All I see is someone who made a venty(/whiny?) secret during a fit of anger. But I don't know the OP, and maybe I'm giving them too much credit; who knows, it's the internet, etc.

I don't think FS is freaked out or angry, I know my response wasn't angry at all, I was more wondering why OP was so upset.

OP did not word their secret like they were being reasonable about it, they worded it like they were being over-dramatic.
