I sympathize but it wouldn't make much sense for them to make it for DS only/for both when they're pushing sales for 3DS. :<

I know it sucks for those of us who can't afford to buy a 3DS, so I feel you there, but they are not a charity; they are a company.

If they don't make popular games exclusive for that console, they're not going to sell enough units. (And this should go without saying, but that is bad for them.)

+1 Yup.

I'd love to play the newest KH games but I don't want to buy a 3DS solely for that. (I'm behind even on the regular DS games, so I probably wouldn't understand what was going on anyway.)

I also don't want to buy a Playstation Vita for Uncharted: Golden Abyss & Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation. That's a lot of money for one or two games... (And I know because I bought a PSP for the MGS games, still haven't played them because I hate the controls on the PSP, and never bought any other games for it with the exception of Final Fantasy Dissidia. Such a waste of money...)

Main reason I bought a 3DS. I got it the day it came out when it was $250. March 2011. That's how long the game has been announced. You've had this long to save up and buy one. They sell for $150 used. Save up and buy one. The game isn't even out till next year anyway.

Used? I bought mine a couple months ago for $150 new. The non-XL version, since they had recently released those and were pushing them bigtime. The non-XL versions are probably under $100 used by now. By the time the game's out, probably even less.

(I bought mine more or less because Ace Attorney 5 was announced. Fortunately I discovered Theatrhythm really appealed to me, or the thing would just be sitting around unused for who knows how long, if it even gets a release here... but I'm that addicted to fake lawyers. ;_;)

Welcome to the world of gaming? As someone said above gaming companies have to do these things to sell enough units.

i sympathize; i don't have a 3ds or a wiiu or whatever because i'm tight on money and have more important things i want (and frankly there's not really any games i want for them right now, at least not enough to buy one), but it kinda sucks to watch my friends messing around with their new systems and playing games together and i don't get to join in. and i know that by the time i'm caught up, it'll all be old news, hahaha :(

The game was announced at launch. Which was March 2011.

OP has had an ample amount of time to save up for it if they really wanted it.

I wanted a PSP for Crisis Core. So I saved up for it. I had over a years notice. It's not hard to put $10 away a week.

We understand it but that's just how these things work. A new system comes out and they eventually stop supporting the old one. Why the hell would Nintendo want to make new, big-name games for not the current system?

It's not Nintendo's fault. If you can't afford a 3DS, you can't play 3ds games. If you can't afford a trip to Vegas, it's not the obligation of the casinos to come to you. Of you can't afford to buy a skateboard, you can't do tricks at the slate park. If you can't afford an iPad/iPhone, you can't play those apps. If you can't afford the hardware to play a game, go play one of the games you can afford to play, don't gripe about the company doing something perfectly legitimate by releasing their game on the platform it can best be played on.

I can't afford a PS3, should I be getting mad at Sony for releasing Playstation Allstars Battlr Royale on their systems instead of the ones I already have? Cause that really doesn't sound like it makes a lot of sense.

Okay, you needed some more words or punctuation or something in here -- or maybe not, since everyone else seems to have understood you just fine. But I came away from this secret with the impression that you loathed Nintendo because of the new Animal Crossing game, but only for the 3Ds, by which I assumed you meant some badly done 3-D rendering or something. Yeah, I think to convey your meaning you either need to attach a verb to 'Nintendo' to make it clear their actions are involved, or string together everything from "new" to "3DS" with hyphens. Or not, since everyone else understood...

I really just wished it was coming out for the DSi. I've been wanting to get one of the newer DS handhelds for a while and was leaning more towards the DSi rather than the 3DS, but then I found out that the AC game was coming out for the 3DS and all I could think "GODFUCKING DAMMIT".
Seeing screenshots of it on tumblr actually do make me want to cry.

How has it already been that the DSi is already obsolete? I feel so old in video game times.

I understand OP. I really want to play the Kingdom Hearts on the 3DS but i still only have the regular DS. I cant see upgrading for ONE game so ill wait a while longer.

That sucks OP. Upgrading to a new system is always hard, but the 3DS is a really fun system for what it's worth (and at least its not like an iPad that has a new release every 6 months).

I got my 3DS for Harvest Moon and Virtue's Last Reward, but now I have a good bunch of games for the system. Harvest Moon is also a franchise worth looking into if you really like Animal Crossing. There is also a game coming out called Fantasy Life, which is a Animal Crossing/RPG hybrid that looks super amazing as well. Also Rune Factory, which is a farm sim (like HM) and RPG cross as well.

I feel you on this, OP. I had no interest at all in the 3DS, but then I saw how awesome the Animal Crossing game was going to be on it. Plus Ace Attorney 5 and Layton vs. Phoenix Wright are going to be on it as well, so I ended up asking for one as a birthday present.
