Online, not sure. Probably something really, really awful. I've gotten the usual "you're a horrible person", "you're a piece of shit", etc. But it's the internet.

irl? Probably from my younger (but not much younger) brother. When he gets frustrated with me he occasionally starts telling me that I have so many problems, I have such ~issues (referring to my depression and weird personality tendencies for which I am in counseling) and other such things. The topper - for context, I was in a long, committed, 3 1/2 year relationship, and my ex and I fought a lot near the end; we broke up a little over two years ago. I'm still heartbroken about it. Anyway, my brother likes to say things like "Why would anyone want to be with you? I don't know what [ex's name] ever saw in you!" That probably hurts the most.

that is very mean of your brother and I hope he finds a healthier way to cope with frustration

Yeah. Part of it is that he's extremely immature. He's 20 but I think he's years behind on "learning how to treat people decently". I'm just kind of waiting it out, and not pursuing any kind of real relationship with him right now. He blocked me on Facebook like, a year ago, over a really weird thing and I'm just kind of like "ok". I try to avoid him for the most part when we're at home together and don't really talk to him, not because I don't love him, but because I'm not ready to try to form a real relationship with him right now, because I know he will treat me like shit at the drop of a hat, and when I try pointing this out to him he keeps trying to turn it on me and denies it. In a few years when he's more mature, I'm hoping.

Another part of it is that when we were younger I used to be really bossy to him. That's kind of part of my personality but I've really tempered it over the years (through my own maturing process - I'm 22 now). But he still reacts as though that were happening, gets really defensive, etc. like if he leaves a mess in the bathroom and I ask him to clean it out so I can shower he perceives that as me trying to get all up in his business, boss him around, control him, etc. and responds accordingly. =/
