Why does everyone assume that people have to ship het or slash? Can't people ship het ships that they like and slash ships that they like? I mean, you assume that you can, but then you say things that imply that you think that anyone who bashes yaoi fanbrats doesn't ever ship slash.

I'm so confused by the labelling. If you ship any slash, are you a slash shipper? If you ship het most vocally, are you a het shipper? (Because my boyfriend seems to group by the first one - one slash ship and a million het ships makes you a slash shipper, but if the issue is vocal shippers, you would think it would be tied more to what a person is loudest about.)

Or is this just one of those labels of convenience, wherein you can conveniently hate a large group of people who might or might not actually fit into the same actual group (while getting to exclude yourself from either because it makes you feel better)? Because that's how it always sounds to me. And how everyone who says it often then tries to play it up with "but not me, because I like ships equally. =D"

2. I would've had agreed if not for the generalizations - yes, some het fen are annoying, but NOT ALL OF US. Being a het shipper doesn't make someone automatically less of a fan or more of an idiot; some of the most respectful, sweeter fans I've seen are het lovers, and OTOH some of the worst people in my fandom are yaoi/yuri fen who think het fan = homophobe, oppressor, bitch, etc. D:<

2. IAWTC! I especially love how some of the people that say "ZOMG YAOI SHIPS ARE OOC!" go around and ship characters that hate eachother. OOC pairings are only alright when you like them, amIrite? ;D

21. IAWTC again. Especially on the whole "Avatar is still a lot like anime" bit. Seriously, the trailer alone had so many things I'd seen in anime already, that it wasn't even funny. I mean, come on, the show even has the freaking "MAIN CHARACTER'S LOVE INTEREST PUTS SOME PIECE OF CLOTHING/JEWLERY ON AND IS SEEN WITH SPARKLES ALL AROUND HER" scenes. The show is still awesome tough <3

2. I think both sides are equally annoying, just with slightly different arguments that makes it annoying, I don't know why one group needs to be singled out (I would say the same thing if it was a het shipper ranting about slash fans).

Also why does either one need to be better than the other?

21. I don't get that idea at all, I like both anime and non-anime fandoms, and I don't think either makes me better than anyone else.

NS#2: What made you think that you had to answer that call, write/draw/fangirl whatever it is you want to, and ignore the whiners, no one can fix the lack of yuri on their own, nor should they be expected to.

I ship het, yaoi and yuri.
I don't get on anyone's case about what they ship so I wish they'd do the same for me.
These generalizations are so silly. Not all yaoi shippers are idiotic fangirls and not all het shippers are elitist asses.

I would have agreed with this secret if there hadn't been a gross generalization of het fans there.

Fact of the matter is, there are some REALLY annoying yaoi fans, yuri fans, and het fans. That's just the way it is. Those fans would be annoying regardless of what they ship.

But, there are also sane, lovely fans from each category. Saying that all het fans think they're superior to yaoi and yuri is a generalization and makes you just as bad as those het shippers who rag on the slashers.

And, contrary to popular belief, yaoi fans aren't all that oppressed. In the majority of fandoms I've seen, it seems the slash ships overshadow the het ships. Just what I can see, anyway.
