23. I think everybody on Anitube has been saying the same thing. It's sad. I still love Bleach and Naruto... But nothing fucking HAPPENS from week to week. In Claymore there's always action! and suspense! and real PLOT.

11. ...That's what I think (well, used to think) about TezuRyo, actually. xD;

15. Every fangirl probably has a secret burning desire to do that. I know I do when I really fall in love with a character. YOU'RE NOT ALONE T ^T

24. Oh god yeah. Death Note fandom completely ruined my love for the series.

4. Yeah, I always hear people stuff like "incest writers must not have siblings, eww" but I never really understood that mentality. My girlfriend and I both have sisters, and we both write incest fic. And we aren't fucking our sisters. :/ I think the problem is that when it comes to sexual content, people have a harder time seeing it as separate from reality, ie., if you get off to it, you must enjoy fantasizing about yourself experiencing a similar situation (which isn't necessarily true, either). Obviously, not all incest fic is porn, and just because you write something doesn't mean you're getting off to it, but a lot of people don't seem to quite grasp that concept.

13. WTF is wrong with Sonic? I've been a proud Sonic fan since the original games on the Genesis. Personally, I look down on people who look down on someone who has different interests than them. So there!

This is what the internet is for. Read Wikipedia. Read the fansites. Go on forums and read what people have to say. Watch the cutscenes on youtube. Take your time with it, but to understand the story and characters you do not need to play the game.

I refuse to play FF7 because of the shitty graphics, and can't get past the fourth boss in Devil May Cry, yet can hold my own in discussions about some of the minutiae of both these games with hardcore fans who could play through the things in their sleep.

So if you're really interested, stop whining and put some work into it.

Zomg Yotsuba. I'm probably one of the biggest Yotsuba fangirls out there (silent yes, but still a pretty damn big fangirl).

That series is one of the only things that can properly pick my mood up if I'm feeling like crap. I love Yotsuba& so much. I hope that if the fandom grows, it doesnt blow up because the girl is just too freaking adorable for her own good. ♥

[identity profile] aviy.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
7. .......like tv shows, movies, manga and anime?

12. God. Matt/Mello \o/ I admot I didn't read the canon to that point. But. I really don't get it. It's eight panels, right? I can understand liking it! Cuz it seems that it gets pretty art! But even if in EVERY ONE OF THOSE EIGHT PANELS MATT WAS SUCKING MELLO'S COCK there is still way too much wank, going one way or the other, over a character who probably could have easily just not existed. Death Note was, in it's own way, epic. Fixing on Raito/L or Raito/Misa or you know maybe the GIANT MORALITY QUESTIONS present in the manga I get. Why Matt/Mello has an exceptionally noisy fandom I do not.

17. ...........whhhy?

22. Man, every time I see Icka's name pop up that brings me back =\ I dont' see her anymore, if she is BNF, I suppose because we're not into the same circles. But I adored her fanfic years ago, and I talked to her a few times over e-mail and found her a wonderfully kind person and now that I'm older love her more for not snubbing me and my friend when we were probably being annoying fanbrats >D I'm glad she's still around doing her thing ♥

Heya!! I remember you!!! How's is? #^^#

if she is BNF, I suppose because we're not into the same circles.</i. Detective Conan / Magic Kaito primarily, although I still fervently deny BNF status. What series are you up to now?

Sonic itself is pretty cool, though. At least I still think so. No need to be hatin' yo.

4: I'll admit, I'm sort of like that, although not particularly in regards to incest. I don't intentionally put myself in characters' places, but sometimes when I'm not consciously distinguishing the difference between reality and fiction I accidentally slip myself in there and it bothers me. This is generally why I prefer BL/yaoi over het and GL/yuri, although I'm not opposed to them and respect that people have the preference. As a female who considers herself not mature enough for a relationship or sex, it kind of freaks me out when I realized I've vicariously put myself in said position, and since BL/yaoi relationships don't involve females it's harder for that accidental slippage to occur. I doubt this will make you think I'm less creepy, but at least know that even if people who know they =/= characters sometimes, when they're immersed in the fictional world and the lines between the two are blurred, the self-projection into the characters can happen, no matter how unintentional.

6: I have a feeling I might kinda-sorta know you? O.O;;

16: Yes, love for the lesser known Asian countries! <3

Firstly ... MALAYSIA REPRESENT! :D Boy, did this secret surprise me or what.

Secondly, I get where you're coming from. (No pun intended.) Couple of years ago, I was living in one of the biggest cities in the entire world, and on the first day I was there, I was buying a mobile phone in the city center and chatting with the woman selling it to me. When I told her I was from Malaysia, she said, "Ma ... laysia? What's Malaysia?" I did a double take, shrugged it off with, "Meh, not everybody knows where it is," and then told her it's a country between Thailand and Indonesia.

She looked like she had absolutely no idea what or where those countries were.

I said, "Thailand? Indonesia? Countries in Southeast Asia?"

She stared at me for a long time, then answered in all seriousness, "Sorry, I've never heard of Southeast Asia."

Suffice to say, I never went back to that phone shop. (I must add it was a one-time experience. I was glad to meet people after her who definitely knew where Malaysia is, as well as the fact it has the Petronas Twin Towers and one of the best F-1 racing tracks in the world. :>)

19. His death hurt me more than anyone else's, even Sirius'. All my friends would say that I'm most upset about Sirius, and that's certainly how I act, but if I could bring back anyone it would be Fred, because it breaks my heart to think of George living all alone. I don't mean that lightly; I'm almost in tears now just thinking about it. It hurts. It made me, for once in my life, hate J.K. Rowling for killing so recklessly, so pointlessly.

I pretend Sirius hurts the most because I know he'd be happier with his friends in the realm of the dead and it's easier for me to accept. But there isn't any way that I could joke about Fred. My friends wouldn't get it. It's one of those things that you absolutely cannot be made fun of, and I'd hate my friends if they tried to make a joke about Fred's death. He was really amazing for his family, for his friends, for George, for me, and for anyone who is dedicated to the books.

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
I am refusing to read the rest of the books (haven't read the last two) and I heard about that and I almost burst into tears just at the thought of it. That's just... argh so tragic and depressing.

#17 Oooooh, Higurashi *hearts* I know a lot of people who hates that show for its "moe" look; I thought it was just there to take us off-guard, you know? Anyway, it works for me.

#23 akdjasjsdjksal! I looooove those series you mentioned to death. Claymore's still shounen fare, what with all the powerups and all, but it's a step ahead of the rest with it's atmosphere and drama execution, IMO. I've never felt as much anxiety and thrill in other shounen series as I do in watching an episode of Claymore; you never know who's gonna blow the dust anytime soon.

Also, Goth! Such orgasmic art it has; it really needs to get licensed like whoa. XD

#24 Fellow MPD Psycho and Chevalier d'eon fan! I agree, besides I think they're perfect enough as it is (at least for d'eon; it's the only one I've finished) without the need for fanfics and the likes.

Also, is that Aria? It's slice-of-life, right? I might just get into that if ever.

OP of #23

(Anonymous) 2007-08-27 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. But really, their's just something about the portrayal of characters here that gets to me all the damn time, especially in seeing the evolution of Clare's character. And, yes, I can never get enough of an episode from Claymore. God, waiting for the next feels so much like torture. Honestly.

Fellow Goth fan! *hugs*
