Virgin-shaming is shitty but that's not exactly why western fans tend to have a problem with this mindset. What these guys are talking about is extreme subservience, very good at being a housewife and nothing else, putting girls on a pedestal/as an object to enhance their life, rather than a person.

Srs. It's the anti-feminism that's coded into those words that make westerners rage, not "slut" or "virgin" shaming.

They want someone childlike (which usually results in a horrifying beauty ideal too) they need to protect from the world, not an adult partner they can treat as an equal.

How do western fans know that's what they 'really mean'? o_0 did everyone else get mindreading skills with their interned access portal, 'cause I'm pissed if I missed out on that.

Consider their horrible culture honestly. It's the most likely interpretation.

It's not mindreading, it's that when I read "their ideal type is innocent/pure/sweet" I'm immediately reminded of many real life situations in which men (of all ethnicities) thought it was appropriate to explain why they preferred asian women.

Different anon, but I've dealt with similar attitudes from various dudes. I think the most blatantly it's been laid out to me is that Western women are great as friend/fuckbuddies, but Asain women are better wives because they're modest and obedient and don't expect to be treated as the equals of men.

I mean part of it is I can't believe people would be so blatant in saying that. I hope the men who want/think they want a perfect, obedient, submissive wife never get married (or get married to someone who isn't like that, and learn better).

They really did! I had one co-worker in particular who talked about sexual things, but in my experience socially awkward guys can be painfully transparent about their underlying insecurities/prejudices.

I mean insecurity is one thing though. But to actually, consciously expect a subservient and submissive wife? *barf*

And a lot of people are socially awkward for various reasons, so I don't think there's a definite connection there. But maybe for some that is true.

It doesn't take mind-reading, anon, to develop an understanding of a non-Western culture.
