Personally I don't even bother reading first or second person POV fics. First person fics are written far too often like some therapeutic or masturbatory diary, and second person reminds me of those Choose Your Own Adventure books, where reader usually ends up dead in some grotesque manner.

And no, none of my fandoms are canonically in first person POV.

Wait, but would you bother to read original fiction in first person? (not talking about the second one here - that's... a slippery matter)

Not the anon up above, but I've read a few books in first person but they really have to grab me. I avoided reading the Hunger Games just for that reason. It's just not a style I enjoy.

Ditto. If I hadn't heard about the general idea of Hunger Games before I picked up the book (or worded better: if I had read page one before knowing what it was about), I wouldn't have given it the time of day. I am really picky like that about first person.

AYRT. I have read some of the first person classics mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but I haven't enjoyed them all that much. It just isn't a writing style that I like.
