(Anonymous) 2013-03-10 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)Mpreg is not usually my kink, but I think maybe I have a neighborly sort of relationship with it...

(Anonymous) 2013-03-10 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)The first and last kid-fic I wrote involved pseudo-sciency magic that implanted the DNA of one of the guys' sperm into a "blank" egg, paired with the other guys' sperm, and implanted the resulting zygote into a surrogate.
I mean, if you're already writing a story that's handwaving biological probability and it's not done for body horror or kink, then why not go for something that may actually be possible in the future? Cis males cannot and will never be able to get pregnant and carry a child, but my solution above? May actually be possible someday. (And then again, maybe not, but at least the theory's got more ground to stand on than spontaneously knocking a cis male up.)

However, you mentioned the surrogate. Maybe the writer likes the idea of the parents being able to just have the kid without needing to get a third person involved. Or complicated medical processes and technology, for that matter. Fictional straight couples can just fuck and boom, she's pregnant; maybe people like the idea of fictional gay and/or lesbian couples being able to do the same thing.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-10 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)And the idea that a man could be so full of life, carry his child (and the child of his lover) inside of him and protect it, despite the laws of nature telling him that he shouldn't be able to do so... It's very beautiful. Throw in a scene where he and his lover are fondly, disbelievingly stroking his swollen belly and I'm done. I'm just DONE. It's too hot.
