CONSPIRATOR! Seriously.

I think the post was a response to someone saying River Song was the strongest companion because she made a dalek scream for mercy or something and it hit all my buttons on how compassion and empathy can take more inner strength then violence and hatred. Which is something rarely shown or shown as a cheesy, beautiful victim, sacrificial lamb type deal that is hard to swallow or aspire to.

I don't play anything right now, but I can play almost everything well enough to play simple tunes by ear and sight-read sheet music that are easy to medium in difficulty. My worst are bowed string instruments because I still haven't figured out how to hold a bow properly. My best are wind instruments.

The most "exotic" instrument I played is probably the bassoon. I took a beginner bassoon course and because my bassoon was on loan from school, I had to give it back when the course ended. I really wish I have one of my own so I can play the bassoon again, but decent bassoons cost six grand minimum.

It's a bit of a shame though that I had to cancel my cart of her Molly/Martin crossover ship flavour tea and some Person of Interest ones I found. Shipping to Canada is frightening D:

I have about half a dozen Avengers fics in progress right now... but the thing I've been working on most recently is a Walking Dead (TV) fic with a rarepair so rare that AO3 didn't have a tag for it. It's mostly introspective character study on the part of both characters involved, which will hopefully end in NOW KEEEESS. I'm almost at 5,000 words.

Sadly, there's not a lot of Castle fandom on DW and LJ. There's quite a bit of disorganized squee on Tumblr and a lot of organized hate on TWoP. Mostly it's hate for the writers/directors/costumers who they think are just so full of fail that the actors can't save it.

And the only actors/characters anyone seems to care about are Nathan Fillion/Castle and Stana Katic/Beckett -- never mind that there are four (maybe five, not sure about the captain anymore) other people in the regular cast. So, yeah. I spend most of my time on Tumblr.

I think Dr Manhattan's disengagement seemed to be more driven by "what's the point of doing anything?" because he knew what was going to happen to everything and everybody in the future (barring the blocked stuff), so he was basically just twiddling his thumbs and going through the motions of what he knew was going to happen, like watching a movie he'd already seen.

Still, IA that when Rose's first instinct when she had omnipotence foisted on her was protecting the Doctor and showing compassion to everyone (in a kind of scary way -- she did kill thousands of Daleks with a flick of her hand, granted Jack immortality without considering what it meant for him, and was completely mesmerized seduced by her own capability and power), it made me cry with just how wonderful it was. It made perfect sense yet totally bucked the ungrounded stereotype that "well, duh, if someone could see everything, nothing would matter to them/well duh, if someone had unlimited power they'd help themselves and wouldn't care about anyone."

And ooh...now I'm wondering how much this event and/or Nine dying from Bad Wolf overdose influenced Ten's personality. Rose pretty much did the same thing as the Time Lord Victorious there, just with a whole lot less "fuck da police" than Ten.

(This does reminds me of this one fic where magical families have specific dominant visual traits. Weasleys being all orange and Malfoys blond were some examples, and people who marries into the families, like Molly and Narcissa, will "gain" the dominant traits even if their original looks are vastly different.

If Molly became Malfoy blond in that fic, it would mean she became a Malfoy. Gasp! Infidelity! Drama! This isn't that fic though.)

That wank almost made me lose faith in humanity.

However at the same time it seemed to really change his fandom...for the better! Folks are having fun now, reblogs are full of love, and all of us really getting along quite well. In a way it was one of the best things to happen in the land of Hiddels.
