(Anonymous) 2013-03-24 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)It's okay to like something that's problematic as long as you realize it's problematic. Blaming SJW's for pointing this out just makes you look like a huge stan who's sticking their fingers in their ears and trying to ignore what's wrong with the movie.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-24 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)Hang on. If you know it's problematic then why support it with your money? Why watch/read/eat/take part in it?
Isn't a problematic thing, still a very bad thing?

(Anonymous) 2013-03-24 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)Also, there are plenty of ways to consume media nowadays without supporting it with your money.
Re: DA
(Anonymous) 2013-03-24 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)Sure you can consume it without spending money, but don't think that big media isn't watching those numbers as well.
Re: DA
(Anonymous) 2013-03-25 01:38 am (UTC)(link)pirating it?
and if that crosses lines as well?
it's about battles and battlefields and what the individual is willing to do and where they're willing to go to fight it.
and no two people have the lines. stop expecting people to care about the same things you do and if they do? stop expecting them to fight the battle the same way you would.

I've found this pretty useful, because I may try to be selective and consider the flaws in media, but I am still fairly new to this and can admit to enjoying certain properties despite problematic elements. The comments are also worth reading.
