In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if almost all your answers don't actually address your secret but rather just list a bunch of pairings. Is that the kind of response you wanted? You may get a lot of replies but not a lot of them will be talking about, well, your secret.
Hmm, let me see, uh, I'm not really sure what your secret is? Like, you do realize there are people on tumblr who have made an entire fandom based on a fake anime promo right? There was absolutely nothing to base any of their stuff on. Or hey, they ship planets too. Remember the Earth/Jupiter thing? Fandom is a crazy place. Welcome?

(Anonymous) 2013-03-25 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)...how? Are they at least anthropomorphised or something?
no subject
Yup. Got it in one. It started because of the news reporting that Jupiter snagged and got hit by a huge asteroid that would have hit Earth if not for Jupiter or something. I don't remember the details very well. Anyway, fandom turned it into a hurt/comfort thing and they gave the planets personalities. It was interesting to watch.

Then there was this:
And even later there was fic that I was going to take a screencap of before I realized it would be way too small to read if I was going to make it fit on a screencap. Either way, I will never understand how one can get from Jupiter saving our asses to Jupitearth.

The magic of fandom~
I must have caught the tail end of the Earth/Jupiter stuff though because I remember different fanart. I do remember the fic though.
no subject
Do you have a link to that fic, by any chance?
And I guess it's just fandom's weirdness, yeah. Personally, due to some phobias I find space incredibly scary, so I'm liking the idea that actually the planets have love lives and friendships and stuff, silly as it is. (Also, crack!pairings make me laugh.)

I can't stop laughing. XD
That was magnificent.
Thank you, kind anon. Thank you.
or Venus and Mercury, nuts as they are
But this line hints at a backstory that (probably) hasn't been written... *sadness*

And here's an article about the whole Jupitearth (that's apparently their actual ship name, which I thought I just made up a few minutes ago but, well, here you go): http://www.dailydot.com/culture/earth-jupiter-slash-ship-pairing-relationship/

The article is illuminating and helpful as well, though I think I'll skip over the cutesy name smush. =)
Thanks again!~

No, but now I totally ship that! :o
And Pluto with Charon [?].
And Uranus with everyone.no subject
Uranus is the fandom bicycle.no subject
I'm now far too temped to write fic in which Earth uses Mars to make Jupiter jealous, as it is itself jealous of all the moons Jupiter keeps hanging out with, and the rumours of polygamy going around.
Poor Mars. First the Earth's deception, and then all that talk that the asteroid belt is actually a chastity belt ruining its chances of a rebound fling with Venus.
(I'm not getting too into this at all. :P)
no subject
Earth: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lead you on. I thought you would understand! I mean, I named it "Curiosity"! I was experimenting. I'm sorry.
Srsly tho, I ship Mars/Earth harder. Haha~ I get stuck with the weaker ship even when there isn't even a fandom anymore. Go me.
But if Jupiter is possibly poly with its moons what does that mean about Earth and its moon? Are they in a relationship or are they just friends?
(Shhhh, it's not like we're totally just proving my origonal point or anything. ;])
no subject
Earth: Not anymore. There might have been life on Mars once, but no longer. Let go, Mars. It's over.
Mars: *cries for an entire rotation around the Sun*
...Oh, it really is too sad, though. :( I would totally welcome a story in which Earth realises its mistake and slowly repairs its relationship with Mars, truthfully and wholly this time. ♥ (Or maybe a purely fluffy one where they've always been happy.) I can sympathise with getting stuck with the weaker ship - I have at least two fandoms I've written for that have a wide-spread OTP, and those pairings are okay, but not the most interesting/shippable for me.
But if Jupiter is possibly poly with its moons what does that mean about Earth and its moon? Are they in a relationship or are they just friends?
I was thinking about this, and I kind of like them as either friends or as the Moon being like a platonic protector of Earth. But shipping them could be interesting.
True enough. XD

Oh gosh I laughed at this.
Oh it's cool, no worries. ;) Weak ships aren't the end of the world for me.
Earth/Moon might be considered incestuous if you go by the most widely accepted theory that the moon was formed by the debris left over after a huge thing hit Earth. Watch fandom people then start saying, "But the moon was adopted" as if that makes it better. /bitter adopted person
I feel like this is the moment I've gone too far.
no subject
Cool. :) And me neither, really. I just write fic of my own and try and promote it enough that I get others joining in. But even if that doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world.
Ah, yes, I forgot about that. That's pretty awesome - they're family! ^_^ As for incest, I think the fact that you've grown up with someone as family is pretty much as important as any biological factors; I can understand where "But they're adopted!" might come from, but I don't really agree that it necessarily makes it any better. So I'm with you on that, I guess.
Idk... I think we could go further. XD And I've shipped so much crack over the years that the idea doesn't even scare me. What have I become?
no subject
Ahaha, we should use Planets fandom as a way to comment on other fandoms. It would be hilarious.
We can always go further. It makes you one of us.
One of us.
One of us.

I keep trying to write fic atm as well, but my muse is in one of her 'I'm going to give you lots of ideas, but run off as soon as you try to write about them' stages. Oh wells. F!S is a fun distraction.
Ahaha, we should use Planets fandom as a way to comment on other fandoms. It would be hilarious.
Oh my goodness, that's
theperfectexcuse! I mean, I'm pretty sure I could find a few people to read random, just-for-fun planet fic anyway, but this sounds a lot more fun and somehow has a vague sensibleness about it. :D Do you have any ideas? It makes you one of us.
And I would not trade it for the world.
Okay, maybe I would. Maybe.
