Akashi/Murasakibara from Kuroko no Basuke, right? Kurobas pairings are crazy, I think you can ship anyone with anyone if they have at least one line together (not that I'm complaining).

The same way people come up with crossover parings, for probably several reasons. For one thing some people just think two characters would be really hot together.

A lot of my ships are based on characterization, rather than screen time together. I see two characters even if they never meet in series, and think if they ever got together it would be awesome.

I was gonna say Stiles/Derek but I don't get how the colors relate. So then I thought Clint/Coulson, but I still don't see how the colors relate and then I realized, I WILL NEVER GET IT RIGHT.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if almost all your answers don't actually address your secret but rather just list a bunch of pairings. Is that the kind of response you wanted? You may get a lot of replies but not a lot of them will be talking about, well, your secret.

Hmm, let me see, uh, I'm not really sure what your secret is? Like, you do realize there are people on tumblr who have made an entire fandom based on a fake anime promo right? There was absolutely nothing to base any of their stuff on. Or hey, they ship planets too. Remember the Earth/Jupiter thing? Fandom is a crazy place. Welcome?

Definitely jumping on the Autobot/Deception guessing train.

The two guesses already mentioned though I don't think are it. Tailgate/Cyclonus have had a TON of interaction, and the way the secret uses "yet" probably rules out Starscream/Skyfire because it implies the series is still coming out.

So I'm thinking if it is Autobot/Deception it would either be from one of the ongoing comics or Prime. I read both ongoings though and I can't really think of anything? Hmmm... Also I haven't been keeping up with Prime, any potential Autobot/Deception ships there?

TELL US OP the suspense is killer.

Yeah I agree OP. Red and Purple really have an interesting backstory. I hope we will get more scences with them though I also like Yellow and Red (not so much Green and Yellow though, I don't know why it's so popular)

This was my experience with Sterek. Watched the show, liked their dynamic, was under the impression when I went looking for fic that they would be a "rare pair"....boy was I wrong. Though I'm not exactly sure thats a good thing; most of the fic I read is so OOC :/

I have no idea what this is about, but one of my fandoms has a similar pairing...really popular with not much canon interaction. I chalk it up to the fact that they're the two most conventionally attractive younger males, I really think that's all there is to it.

My initial thought while reading the secret was Mycroft/Lestrade, but then I got to the "colors relevant" line.

Then my mind went to Bruce/Tony, but I'm not sure why. Especially since people are saying that the color is orange. On my screen it looks red. Which is probably what led to me thinking Tony. And I thought Bruce wore a purple shirt in The Avengers, but now that I'm thinking about it, I'm wrong. It's blue. I think. And that would be needlessly complicated, why not just make the other color green?

So that can't be right. Right?

Because OP said "shared history" I assumed they were talking about a Hetalia pairing...I don't know which colors to associate with characters, though

If this is Purple/Red from Kurobasu then I'd say the main reason for their popularity is simply a case of pairing the spares of the GoM. The people that make the merchandise do this too!
Also, early on the only info we had on them was that Purple would only listen to Red's orders. It's only recently that we found out that Red and Green were close friends, and by that time a lot of people had already decided Green/Takao was canon.

No, seriously, Mycroft/Lestrade was like the second most popular pairing (after John/Sherlock) in the Sherlock fandom after Season 1...and they had literally never met on screen, and most likely at that point Lestrade didn't even know Mycroft existed. And Clint/Coulson is ridiculously popular in the Avengers fandom despite the fact they share like what, one or two line-exchanges in the canon movies? (Please note the plural, they only speak to each other once, briefly, in each movie.)

It always cracks me up when characters who barely or never interact with each other end up the most popular pairing in fandom.
