I just hate Carol because the writers are trying to cram Daryl/Carol down my throat and let her fucking live and get ass pats while they fucking kill off Andrea. and there are rumors that they killed of Andrea because Norman was pushing for Daryl/Andrea and is against Daryl/Carol

Andrea at least LOOKED for Carol's fucking kid while Carol washed clothes and cried. Andrea at least learned skills to fucking protect herself and others and tried to make her own decisions about what was best for herself instead of just going along with whatever the 'men' declared was best.

Or are you one of those people that hate her because she was suicidal after losing her sister and being in a fucking zombie apocalypse and complain that she didn't act 'depressed' properly?

I didn't like Andrea because she couldn't be trusted. Her behavior and reactions to most things OTHER than her sister were contradictory. It made her unpredicatable and that's the last character trait I'd want around me in the zombie apocalypse.

ntayrt, if you're going to excuse andrea's behavior based on her depression at her loss of her sister i really think you should have some sympathy for carol as well. she lost her husband and her daughter, and was struggling with overcoming the learned helplessness and negativity that comes from years in an abusive relationship.

Shane was really the only one I actively wanted to see die a horrible death, but I hadn't had much patience for Andrea since about the middle of Season 1, so I get where you're coming from on this. (Lori I found myself starting to defend simply because of all the fandom hate.)

Oh jesus Christ. She grazed him. When he was off in the distance moving sort of like a fucking walker. She didn't go 'oh hey letme shoot Daryl in he head!" she went 'fuck walker' and fired. And HE FORGAVE HER.

Oh and you seriously think that doormat!Carol would be good for Daryl. Andrea would have at least stood up to him and been an equal partner. Carol would just enable all the bad parts of Daryl.

Carol hasn't been a "doormat" since Season 1. Have you been watching this past season at all? She's gotten a lot stronger and more confident, but in a mature and stable way, in contrast to Andrea's impulsive, self-centered bravado. Daryl doesn't need someone to "stand up to him" -- he needs someone to help him learn how to deal with people and let the gentler parts of himself show. Are you forgetting that Daryl canonically had an abusive upbringing? Andrea would just run roughshod over him. Just because Daryl is a badass at zombie-killing doesn't mean he has a lot of interpersonal confidence.

She shot him because she was acting like a gung-ho moron. After that stunt they should have made sure she wasn't even allowed a sharp stick never mind a gun. Her demand desire to be at the center of everything (even more than queen bee Lori) made her unreliable, and that was what made her shoot Daryl. Even with the best intentions, if she hadn't been so damn set on showing how badass she could be and more cautious then it probably wouldn't have been an issue. Not only did she almost kill a member of the group, she also wasted ammo doing it.

In a world without utilities, anyone can end up looking like a zombie when coming in wounded from the scrub, and she didn't bother to think about that. Confirm your target, conserve your ammunition, keep a cool head. Andrea did none of that.

I doubt it. He and Laurie Holden dated a little after filming season one and didn't seem to get a long very well after that.

I don't like Daryl/Andrea either (though I despise Daryl/Carol. Makes me gag) but what the hell's an accidental shooting got to do with it? I mean, let's not pretend Daryl was an angel either.

Because the accidental shooting happened as a result of her doing something childish and irresponsible and wanting to show off, rather than letting the people already en route to the problem handle it. If there's one thing Daryl is, it's competent and sensible. He doesn't waste anything, and he doesn't show off, and I don't think he has much respect for anyone who does.

I really don't think the writers are pushing Daryl/Carol that much. There's nothing explicitly romantic about their relationship. Compare to Glenn/Maggie and Rick/Lori/Shane, they're quite understated.

Also, Andrea? I can only remember one real moment that she had with Daryl. Am I missing something? Is there a canon basis for them?

I love their interactions and their friendship and I love when they're on screen together helping each other out because they do come from similar backgrounds, but I don't want them dating. Frankly I like Norman's interpretation of Daryl being a 20-something odd virgin with no idea of how to interact with women-- let's face it, until now he's been living the "little brother" role all his life. He's only now really becoming an "adult." I don't think he's ready for a relationship until he gets himself squared away.

Andrea is/was/always will be my favorite character but Carol being popular had nothing to do with Andrea being killed off. From what I can tell, Andrea was killed because a) the majority of fans loathed her, b) the network wanted a shocking death in the finale and c) it was a huge deviation from the comics. I have heard rumors that the former show-runner DIDN'T want to kill Andrea off and that's one of the reasons he was fired so it seems like her fate was a network decision. And there are other rumors saying Andrea's original death was supposed to be this complete non-event and the new show-runner at least gave her those final moments with the people she loved. Which makes sense with an interview Laurie Holden gave saying how happy she was at what the new show-runner wrote for her in the finale.


I don't think Daryl/Carol has been heavy-handed in the show at all. There's a lot of Daryl/Carol shipping going on in the fandom and I suppose you could argue that the writers have played up to that a bit but as far as their canon relationship goes, we've seen nothing concrete to indicate that they are anything but good friends.


As to Norman...he doesn't seem to want Daryl with anyone. Every interview I've seen with him, he says he thinks Daryl has 'no game' and doesn't see him romancing anyone. I've seen Laurie Holden tweet drawings/fan-art that could suggest she was for Daryl/Andrea but I think she's done similar things with Rick/Andrea and Andrea/Michonne fan-art as well, so it could be she just gets excited when people make things featuring her character.

I think Andrea's original death had her being bitten by Milton on-screen and then spending her last moments with Tyrese who finds her. Months later they went back and refilmed it so her death was more ambiguous and so she could die with her friends instead.
