I too hate it when people get the characterizations of anthropomorphized yaoi characters based on actual nations involved in a horrific world war incorrect. You have to do justice to your material, dammit.

I don't know Hetalia (I assume this is Hetalia?), so that might make sense? But Prussia was only a region by the time of the world wars as such, not a nation, and Spain was neutral in WWI and not a full participant in WWII, so I'm not sure identifying them by involvement in a world war is very accurate.

I... no, actually I'm not going to ask where the hell "Bad Touch Trio" came from. I don't want to know. I'm sure someone will explain, and then I'll read the explanation even after deciding I don't want to know, and then I'll be sorry.

My commment wasn't 100% accurate terminology-wise but that isn't really the point.

I hate the Bad Touch Trio thing, too.

I'll admit that it's because I prefer "Bad Friends Trio", which doesn't translate to "lulzy perving". I love how their almost completely random friendship is canon, and I wish there was more IC stuff around with them.

Mmm...it's not completely random though. IIRC it's actually based on the fact they had an alliance at one point, and fandom pretty much ran with the idea of them being total bros.

I still have not read Hetalia. Is it worth reading? I don't mean "so awful you should read." Is there anything interesting about it?

It's cute. If you like kittens and jokes about naked people, you'll probably enjoy Hetalia just fine. If you're looking for intelligent commentary on world history and cultural stereotypes... yeah, not so much.

Only if you're into Yaoi, whitecock, and at least 200 pounds.

Haven't read/watched it myself, but I saw the bloop reel for the dub and it's probably one of the best I've seen.

And my friends who generally have good tastes in anime like it ironically so there's that.

It's not like Himaruya doesn't write and draw them as walking sexual harrasment anthropomorfications or anything.

As a fan of the Bad Friends Trio (hence my default icon), I totally agree with this secret.

It's especially fabulous when fans preach about how France isn't a rapist and Spain isn't a pedophile, and then they still call this group "Bad Touch Trio".

Yeah 'bad touch trio' is definitely one of the things I avoid in fandom.

I've read a few fics in which they don't actually do anything that warrents the name (not even France,) but they still call themselves the Bad Touch Trio. I usually skip past the jokes and shit if they do come up, but it's actually more annoying to give them a name with no context.

But then, I expect more out of the fic than the comic, which is a terrible way to think.

I prefer Bad Friends to Bad Touch, first because it sounds ridiculous and second because it's more fitting to them.
