How I Met Your Mother

I don't know why I keep torturing myself. It's not going to get better and even if it did, it's still ruined in unfixable ways. But I can't let go of the characters. I've never been so emotionally invested in any other TV characters. I love them. I need them. I can't leave them. I won't leave them until they leave me. Not even it hurts me to look at them these days.

I used to love but it turned sour fast. I am so happy I've finally cut myself off for good - haven't watched any of this season at all.

All Law and Order/CSI shows. The sheer amount burned me out, and now I can't stand to watch them.

Teen Wolf. Watching it for a second time really made me notice all the things I hated in it.

Simpsons. Don't know if I grew up or what. Maybe the show just sucks nowadays.

Supernatural. Still love the first three seasons, but I hate what it has become.

A weird half-backwards example would be Doctor Who.

I say half-backwards because while I've come to despise the Moffat era more and more the longer it's gone on, back in the RTD era I used to simply think the show was an entertaining family affair that was an easy venue for me to get my double whammy fix of cracky sci-fi fun and emotional heroin. But voicing my complaints about Moffat and discussing them with others have made me see things about the RTD era that I wasn't really conscious of before, but were now conspicuous by their absence, and which made me appreciate that part of the show way, way, way more deeply than I used to.

And it spurred me into watching Classic Who as well, which is amazing and jesus fuck where has it been all my life.

So...thanks, Moffat, for showing me an excellent example of "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone", huh?

I'd been keeping up with Once Upon a Time even though I'd truly come to hate both it and most of the fandom, but I got behind a couple of episodes and then heard what happened in those episodes, and realized no, it was time to part ways forever.

Where to start? Grey's Anatomy, Bones, Castle, NCIS, NCIS:LA, Doctor Who, Psych, Community, TBBT and The Mentalist. House MD would have made the list if it wasn't for the fact that is has ended

What we can get from this is that I watch way too many shows and I stand by them until the end.

When i was a kid, i liked Little House on the Prairie, even though it annoyed me that it didn't follow the books very closely.

Now i hate that show with a burning passion and cannot stand to watch one minute of it.

Pretty Little Liars (yes I'm admitting I watch it. I'm a teenager lol). I always knew it was on the silly side at times, but these days, I'm almost offended by the stupidity of where they're taking the show. I still watch it because I just ~have to know what happens~, but I'm really just torturing myself.

Also, Psych. "Hate" is maybe too strong of a word for it, but now that they've let Jules in on the secret, I just dgaf. This season has been disappointing enough without that.

I used to be really into it, but I stopped watching it around the second Yin/Yang serial killer ep (the one where Juliet's stuck on the clock tower). It wasn't any sudden thing, but I just ended up feeling like... the show had grown up, but Shawn hadn't.

I already didn't like it much because it brought up way too much cringe comedy in the form of Shawn's antics for my tastes, but all of a sudden they were showing realistic psychological and emotional trauma alongside Shawn's stupid "I should do whatever I want because I only get one chance!" idiocy, and it just felt so incongruous that I stopped watching.

I was absolutely obsessed with The X-Files for a long time, but by the last few seasons I started to despise it and finally couldn't stand it any more.

Also, not a show, but I OMGLOVED the Fake! manga the first time I read it, despite the silliness and the apparent complete lack of research on all things America, but now the rapeyness creeps me out way, way too much.

Rugrats. I watched it whenever it was on until I probably could have recited the dialogue to every episode by heart. At some point I had to admit to myself that I was getting tired of it, then, no, I was getting sick of it. Now I feel like if I ever have to watch a single episode again I'll puke.

Sherlock.

Probably won't bother watching Season 3.

One day I was rewatching it and I noticed that I really disliked some of the episodes and the writing made me cringe.

And THEN there's the fandom. The Sherlock fandom is fucking unbearable; I have since developed an allergic reaction to the phrases "JAWN", "jam", "not my division" and "FEELS".

I generally stop watching something when I think it's not worth my time.

Except for Fringe, where I have only a half-dozen more episodes for that wreck to plow it's way through the cornfield to a dead stop.
