This fandom is a lot less youth-centric than others, though, since there's still a lot of fic about Tywin or Roose or so. And most of the 30-something book characters are 40+ or even 50+ on the show and still get quite a bit of fic written about them (Stannis, Catelyn, Ned ...).

One of the reasons that I love the new BSG so much is that of the three romantic relationships that serve as the foundation of the show, two of them occur between couples over the age of fifty. I hate the way most media pretends that people turn a certain age and then suddenly lose their sex drives and become Wise Dispensers of Knowledge who sit in rocking chairs on their front porch. LOL
