2. Either you're crap and no one's saying it to your face, or you got lucky. If it's the latter, well done. But I'd advise at least putting a little research into it - this is what wikipedia is for. (I won't touch the game myself, the graphics are crap, but I can hold my own discussing it cause I took the time to research it.)

30. Nope, they probably did, 'off-screen'. Seriously, once guys get relaxed around you they will talk about this stuff, whether they respect you or not - in fact, it probably means they've more comfortable with you if they do do it.

"The graphics are crap" is a STUPID reason not to play it. Nothing beats a primary source.

No, it's not. It's not a good reason - I know this - but it's not a stupid reason. My sensibilities are towards the pretty. If it doesn't look good, I'm not interested. I'd rather not be stabbing my eyes out with polygons, ta. I'm also a late bloomer when it comes to video games - my first console was the PS2. My first game was FFX. I'm more inclined to go forward, not regress.

I would like to play it, but until Squeenix stop being franchise whores and remake the original, it's not going to happen.

1) Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't a remake be whoring the franchise even more?

2) I don't know if I'd even trust a remake to stay true to the original at this point. I'm half afraid they'd just shove Compilation canon in where it never was, or bastardize some things -- like what they did to the Nibelheim incident in Last Order (and supposedly repeated in Before Crisis, too), for example.

That comment doesn't apply to absolutely everything in life; I'm not that bad. Things related to technology though, these days? No, I'm not missing out on a lot at all.

Well the original rumours after AC was announced was that they were going to remake FF7 afterwards, but then things like Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core started getting announced, and everyone started to realise how low Enix were willing to go. I say Enix there, as it's obvious looking Square's marketing before and after Spirits Within that it's their influence that's causing this godawful franchising shit. As it is I know a lot of people are only holding on now in the hope that they do remake the original - I think Squeenix realise this though, as it's probably the last thing they will do, after they've squeezed as much as they can out of these spinoffs.

You have a point there. One would hope, if they did remake it, that they'd stick to the original script and just update the graphics/maybe battle system. But one would also hope they'd stop screwing their fans over like this :/

Second: Nah. Rape, as much people cry in outrage before, is er tame for Dietrich. Dietrich is pure evil, an angel faced guy with Satan's heart, simply raping her? What for? If you go by this... he could not just rape her but to thread her (with his pain/pleasure nervous system threads) and have her feel the sensation of ten men raping her at the same time as he tells her he could do but he "loves" her so much, he wouldn't do. I was disappointed he didn't do much to her... but I imagine the impotence was enough. Still very, very tame compare to how cruel and utterly bastardly he was in Istvan (setting her to destroy her own city) or Byzantium (setting her to kill her friend).

That scene never happened anyway, was made up by the Animators who seemly had no grasp of how he would act. Dietrich was never in Albion. *sigh*
