Atomic Robo is a powerful restorative. I might also suggest Perhapanauts.

But seriously, there's something about Atomic Robo. It's kind of perfect, it's kind of new, it's kind of fun, and it's kind of clearly its creators.

Atomic Robo is amazing. One of the few comics series that I still bother with, because it's well worth bothering with! It's consistently fun and funny.

I especially recommend "The Shadow Out of Time," because it's got HP Lovecraft craziness in it.

And here's some Free Comic Book Day issues for a taster! http://www.atomic-robo.com/free-comics/

Ooh, I think "Shadow Out of Time" was the first one I read.

That's another great thing about Atomic Robo--you can pretty much just pick up any trade and go from there. There's continuity and all, and each individual trade tells an over-arcing story itself, but if, say, you just happened to find volume 3 in a bargain bin at a con, you won't be lost if you just start reading it.

Also, the free comics.
