(Anonymous) 2013-05-19 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)And yet... the first reaction I had to the Toy Story characters was: "Oh gee, the artist probably got a bunch of whiny comments about THEM FUGLY MEN FACES so they tried to cope a bit" ^^#
Even if the male counterpart has a super deformed face, somehow you HAVE to make the fem version a flawless animu face or else angry fanboys might jump at you.
I have had similar experiences in the Friendship is Magic fandom. Only there it's not so much about gender swaps but about humanizations. Somehow the zebra character and to some degree the main pony character are allowed to be Black, the rest have to be White or Asian (but with Asian they really mean Japanese).
Oh, and how dare you draw the hard-working farm pony NOT in a revealing fetish cowgirl dress and the sugar-inhaling cake-o-holic as a chubby person. They have to be thin with nice asses and boobs or else you'll get dogpiled.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-19 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)For example, the pony village looks "Euro-centric" so of course that means to them "humanizations of color make no sense in canooon". Boob sizes, however, are the thing you're allowed to play with. Does Fluttershy have an A-cup because she is so shy or does she have DDs because she is so motherly? Real ~deep~ character analysis right there, lol!

(Anonymous) 2013-05-19 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)Pretty much this. I think I was nowhere saying that the cartoon is shit. The constant wank about "nigger sparkle" and "fat pie" however, is.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-19 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)And that bugs me, I don't care if someone wants a sexy drawing or fap material, but when I draw my own fanart (you know, for ME) I like drawing the characters accurate to their personality.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-19 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)Draw whatever you want but don't try to make your way of seeing characters fanon or even canon. When "why is she a nigger?" was at it's peek they would even not shy away from real people anymore, starting to complain about actual non-white, non-skinny, non-big boobed people cosplay as the characters.
"Maybe if XY swapped heads with ABC and Z's nose was smaller, then-"
I wish I was making this up.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-19 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)and people wonder why bronies are so greatly disliked. Jesus.
Pleeeeeeease don't yell at me but
(Anonymous) 2013-05-19 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)But with a supermodel body? Nah.
Also I've actually seen a lot of a darker skinned Twilight. I like that a lot personally.
As for AJ I kinda see her wearing practical , rough and tumble clothes. In some cases I've noticed that short shorts can be easy to move in. I can't see her with stripperific clothing
