I know how you feel. I'm German and I feel the same with Shae. I know she's supposed to have a different accent because she's not from Westeros and all, but still her German accent annoys me so much.

Aw, thank you. Really, I could be a lot worse off and I'm dealing with it fairly well for the most part, but I still have a tendency to get angsty about it, especially at night for some reason. I'll be okay, though.

Anyway, congratulations on your impending parenthood! I hope you have a quick birthing process and a healthy, happy baby to show for it. Have you picked out a name?

How cold it is in my house.

All my overseas friends mock me endlessly for this because "YOU LIVE IN AUSTRALIA. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT COLD IS!111".

I spent Dec-Feb in various parts of Europe where it was snowing and wet and freezing and never once did I feel the cold indoors. Your homes are built to retain heat, and you have heating systems that work.

I live in a giant concrete and steel shed with ceiling to floor windows. It's "modern". It's nice in summer.

But it's not even winter yet and I can't feel my toes or my face, even though I've been in bed all day in winter pjs and socks with extra blankets.

They actually looked similar close to mine now, when I'm fighting them. My previous ones were more extreme, but these are...more contained, somehow. Like I start getting one and try to nip it in the bud, but too late. Which is why it rang true to me. It's like someone who's having anxiety, but at the same time is fighting it, or doesn't want to accept it.

No, I wanted it to come back good. And it did, at first. Nine was made of awesome, and while Ten's increasingly OTT plots started making me a little leery, he was still pretty awesome. But lately things have just been meh, and the more they play with elements from Classic Who the more nervous I'm getting.

Wanting something to come back is not the same as accepting any old crap they put in front of you with the right name slapped on it, you know?

Well, it actually helps looking at at that way for me. I have a similarly varied heritage & childhood, and somehow the mix of my mom's accent, my dad's accent, my birth country's language and my ex's accent, made me speak in a strange fashion and people can never pinpoint my accent.

Gotcha, sorry for the confusion. I agree 100%. After seeing him in so many "quirky" roles I kind of wonder if he's a bit insecure about the straight roles, you know? They're way more SRS BSNSS and it's harder to pull off a role like that with no mask or weird character to hide behind.

So many of his recent movies involve him covered in make-up and a bad wig, doing a squeaky voice. It's kind of depressing because neither him nor Burton seems to see how boring his roles have become.

Try Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. The main characters are essentially cops who deal with thieves, serial killers, hackers, and more, all while in a highly technologically advanced society that had altered how crime operates. It's definately worth a look.

I'm certainly that way with other shows - like them well enough but feel no urge to dive into fandom in search of fanfic/whatever. With Criminal Minds, though - oh hell, I would love to immerse myself in fandom! But Considering my tastes, CM fandom has little to offer to me, and I'm not writer enough to try and change that.

See, this is exactly why I'm so conflicted as to whether I should watch this show or not.

On one hand, food porn. Plus my friends have been trying to get me to watch it.

On the other hand, cannibalism is a huge squick of mine, as I found out after seeing a Hannibal gifset.
