NINE, TWENTY SIX AND THIRTY THREE!

9) FUCKING YES! GREEN RANGEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR! <333

26) I've tried to read the books and I hate them. ;_; I find Tolkein's writing and plot development painfully slow and encumbered by too much detail. I wish I didn't, but find them just AGONIZING to try to read. If you love them good for you, different strokes, but I can't get through a single chapter without wanting to scream.
I enjoyed the movies alot though, and I'm content to just be a 'movie only' fan.

33)That is SO ADORABLE! You just made my night.♥

Re: 26: At least you tried, and they aren't your thing - that's fair and fine. You have valid arguments, and you're not one of those (sorry!) morons who go "Eeew, books! Liek omg, Im not touching them!" so the secret wasn't really aimed at you. (The plot really picks up speed after Rivendell, though - give it another try? I will admit to having problems with the prologue and the first few chapters, too.)
And pssst, it's Tolkien. ;)

Hahah, yay I fail at spelling names. XD

Maybe I will have to try it again another day. I haven't tried to read them in at least five years now. <3

The first time I tried to read the books, I was ten. I never made it past Rivendell. Then I went back a couple years later, and I read all three books, plus the appendices and The Silmarillion in a single summer. It was awesome.

Rivendell is important - either you make it there and stay or go on, or you don't make it at all, that goes for the readers as well as for Frodo and the others.

Silmarillion-love. *happy sigh*

26. Awwww. Though that's certainly understandable. Going back to reread them in the last year, I got kind of bored. =/ even though I was a HUGE HUGE fan when I was like .. eleven, I don't even know.

But in all, the movies are actually an excellent condensation of the events of the books, so you don't have much to worry about. ♥ Like the anonymouse said, at least you tried! That's more than a lot of people can say. :<

I have alot of friends who really loved the books when they were younger and then couldn't quite love them the same way when they tried to read them as adults. It's like a weird little phenomenon or somesuch.

Weird but common. They grow up.
