But everyone knows fat girls only have value for their big boobs and round ass, why would you want any fashion style that doesn't put the full emphasis of gaze on those?

Why would you want a fashion style that doesn't emphasize the attractive parts of your body, whether fat or skinny? Are you in favor of the old "hide your fat self in this frock" fashion?

(Anonymous) 2013-07-13 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
They're in favor of shaming women who feel that tailored clothing fits their personal sense of aesthetics better, because CLEARLY the only reason a woman would want to dress in clothes that allow the natural shape and outline of her body to appear is because she is overflowing with internalized misogyny and longs to be put in her place by her manly raping overlords. CLEARLY.

There are some styles that emphasize over all slimming, fyi.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-13 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
There are styles like that, but I'll let you in on a little secret: they rarely work, and most of them are really, really obvious for the "doesn't like her body" argument. So, you can either emphasize parts of your body that deserve being emphasized, or spend your life avoiding horizontal stripes.

Or you could wear whatever the hell you feel like.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-15 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
sure, but then don't be surprised when people tell you it doesn't look good on you.

but not every fat woman is necesarily going to have the most attractive ass or boobs though. There are some that rock the legs or the hips or the whatever.

plus, what to me is a problem with these kinda fashions is that sometimes you don't want you boobs overemphasized. it is not proper for every situation. When i am working in a corporate office i don't need my boobs popping out all over the place.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-13 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That's not what your boss says, that is why he hired you. Popping your boobs is your only job in the office.

AYRT

I agree with you, for what it's worth, but how many people own only one style of clothes? Everyone has (or should have) professional and casual clothes in their wardrobe, so whether you'd wear something in all situations isn't really the issue here.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-13 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
but... that is the problem isn't it? The secret is about how much of fat fashion is all about pinups or rockability stuff. meaning that if i want to find something fashionable to wear to the office, most of what i am going to find is this style. which i don't want to wear because it is not office appropriate. but i also don't wanna basically wear a sack with buttons on it which often is the only other option short of 'oh you are fat, have a muumuu'.

Do an office to evening switch?
Stick a flattering cardigan or blazer on top of a somewhat curvy dress and take it off after 5. If you can find the right combo, it can look really good and be very practical too.

+1

This is what I've always done to make my more daring stuff work-appropriate.
