18. They've been my favourite characters since chapter six of the first book. Trust me, you don't wish that kind of pain on yourself. I'm still randomly crying about it. I don't even really remember any of the book past page 637, because I was too numb to really get what was going on.

if I didn't agree with the OP and a few of the commentors here that sometimes subtext is more preferable, I'd think a lot of you are afraid of cocks. really.

(not directed at the OP because I got your secret and agree) what is this superiority complex that 'slash' is somehow better than 'yaoi'? can we please be explaining this? let's make sure that we don't conflate the definitions.

because in WRITING, yaoi and slash are pretty much the same thing. don't try to convince anyone that slash is about 'the relationships' and yaoi is about 'the sex' because with the way definitions have changed over the face of fandom in the past couple of years, they are starting to be interchangable with the only difference being slash is anything not anime and yaoi is anime influenced.

being in several fandoms, some anime, some not, I'm not seeing a difference in writing skill, in 'plot vs sex', in character development, etc. 13 yr old 'hurhurhur I sed teh cock' writing is pretty standard across all fandoms, anime or not.

if you're referring to the yaoi manga, those manga designed specifically for 'teh buttsecks pron' well, again, I agree that subtext is better than text because it makes it easier to write for. if you have 'the canon couple' that is pretty much fixed, it's harder to get speculative fic out of it. like married couples, it gets a bit stale after a while because there's only so much variety you can accomplish.

but step off the slash > yaoi writing bandwagon. there's not a lot of difference across the face of general fandoms.

7. That's rather random but...who cares if it's canon or not? It's fandom. Last I checked all this stuff was for some harmless fun.
21. What kind of book IS that? o__o Well my brain's ruined forever.
25. Bwahahah. Brilliant. :D I wanna print that screencap off and post it everywhere for no reason now xD

A book telling that gay people are really just people that never had their father's love, and thus, all they need to become straight is a father, and a lot of wishing away =D You can read the intire book here (an anonimous posted this link) http://dormitem.com/blog/193

Jack/Sloane is the best! I'm not really into the fandom but I thought it was a fairly popular pairing - at least with all the subtext it as least should be.

[identity profile] ivymutant.livejournal.com 2007-10-05 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
10. Oh god, you could be me! That's exactly how it happened for me, via neopets.

I LOVE YOU. TIM & ERIC FTW.

#6: For God's sake, call the police or say something to an adult you can trust about that. Beating your kids is illegal, in case you didn't know.

If you just made that up to get attention, which is entirely possible, please disregard the above. Also, go eat a bag of dicks and do some research on the boy who cried "wolf."

#41: Just because you can't get laid, don't assume the rest of us are as sad and lonely as you are.

Also, my boyfriend loves to read my slash fics. He thinks they're hot. ♥

35. Holy shit, I fucking love Medium so much and fuck all my buddies who think it's only for middle-aged women and would rather watch shitty CBS crime procedural.

I remember last season, the week Joe and his coworkers were taken hostage, there were about seven other "hostage situations" on TV that week as well. Boston Legal, Shark, Raines, and several others, and it was weird. I remember someone innocent, someone the viewers actually cared about died. I remember how beautifully and accurately the police involvement was handled. I remember Jason Schwartzmann and Jake Weber's brilliant performances, desperate and terrified.

And most importantly I remember the weeks and weeks of PTSD, trauma, and therapy, the shows dealt with afterward until the finale, something no show with the balls to do a hostage situation ever does because in the end, the characters just aren't human enough.

And that is why Medium is one of the best things on TV.

41. Oh yeah, and sry2say but I've had plenty of boyfriends and girlfriends, both serious and casual dating, and I'm far from lonely when I'm single =\ Psychoanalysis is best left to psychologists.
