I think they have some of the best fanwork in the fandom but yes. It is so completely obvious that it'll never happen in the show so the fit-throwing is hilarious to watch.

I had hope they become canon but it seems as if two women who have a child together and love each other are still too horrible for mainstream tv.

Btw, I don't even ship them but I would have loved to see such a relationship/family situation in a mainstream/Disney show.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-08 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Uhhh... one woman is the other woman's step-grandmother, yes? And did horrible things to... practically everyone?

Love each other? LOVE each other?

HAHAHAHAHAHA.

I admit I'm running a couple of episodes behind, but have they even stopped trying to kill each other every given opportunity yet, let alone despising each other?

I'm pretty sure the main reason the showrunners have for never planning to put them together has far more to do with how Regina ruined Emma's life, and has tried repeatedly to kill her and her family, and even managing to almost (even if accidentally) kill Henry in the process.

love each other

I

uh

Have you... seen the show?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-09 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Have a child together? You say that like that's a decision that they made, as if they chose to get pregnant or adopt together. They do not have a child together. Emma had a biological child she chose to give up for adoption, one who found her and who she became worried about the well-being of. Regina chose to adopt a child, one who she possibly loves (for whatever value of love she can actually feel), but one who she definitely lied to and manipulated and endangered. That is not them having a child together.

IA. There is absolutely no sense to have their characters together, and the shippers' reactions specifically after Comic Con were outright popcorn.gif-worthy.

I agree. The ship doesn't make sense. Emma would never chose to be with Regina, and I say this as a huge Regina fan who mostly dislikes Emma. But however Regina has changed, she is still the person who ruined Emma's life and the reason she grew up without her parents. There could maybe be some forgiveness because of Henry, but they are never going to be friends, much less lovers.

Secret 9 - Once Upon a Time

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-09-08 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[Picture is Regina, as portrayed by Lana Parrilla, and Emma Swan, as portrayed by Jennifer Morrison, from the TV show "Once Upon a Time". Regina has olive skin and medium-length dark hair. She is wearing a short-sleeved blue shirt. Emma has blonde hair reaching past her shoulders and light skin. She is wearing a sleeveless white blouse. They are standing close to each other in a garden or park of sorts, almost kind of smiling at each other?]

I'm so glad they were Jossed. The butthurt has been wonderful. I still can't believe there were so many delusional people thinking that it was actually going to happen!

I just find the level of outrage and entitlement from the fans hilarious.

I shipped Ben and Locke but I didn't throw a tantrum when they didn't get together at the end (even though they did have that nice moment together in the afterlife),

I ship it, hard. I just don't know why anyone would actually ask. (and ask in such a hostile way) It's fanon and fun and I'd rather not be not involved with the creators at all and bury myself in the pretty.

I'd love them to be friends in canon someday, but the fandom suits me fine.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-08 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah this whole thing was ridiculous. I do actually ship them, but it was clear from the get-go it was never going to happen. The people who thought they were going to be canon? Have clearly been watching a completely different show.

I've never understood how fans could get so entitled that they think that the showrunners should do it because they like it. Especially when it's a couple that clearly DO NOT LIKE each other. Regina has tried since before Emma was born to kill her and has repeatedly, both before Emma was born and after, tried to kill Emma's mother and keep Emma's parents away from each other. Not to mention killing Sheriff Graham for dumping her for Emma. The show is clearly not going the romance route for those to and the fans need to realize that they can keep it in fandom and leave the actors and show runners out of it. The amount of abuse heaped on the actors for saying it won't happen is sickening.

I just...HOW do people even get to that ship in the first place? I mean, I know there's the whole love/hate/sneaking admiration trope but they don't have that, they just plain dislike each other.

I never thought it would ever happen but I still think it's one of the more interesting relationships in the show, romantic or otherwise. I only even thought of the possible romantic aspect when I realized they were almost like a divorced lesbian couple sharing custody of their child.

I'm more butthurt over Aurora and Mulan. They at least liked each other and had 3+ romantic cliche plots under their belt.

Aside from being co-parents, Emma and Regina have nothing in common... we'll they're both aggressive and competitive but aside from that.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-10 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really know why people thought it would ever happen and some of the shipper are absolutely insane.

But man, the fandom is such assholes about it.
