I spent the day celebrating the Catalan national holiday (as well as I could) -- then PMS hit and I ran across a reminder that my cat recently (three months ago?) died. She would have been 18 years old next week. All this in connection with a sad song T______________T.

I was having one of those period-stirring-up-shit moments last night when all the little things that were happening really ganged up on me and I cried myself to sleep.
I really hate I kept tearing up about everything and how this always happens when I'm on my period.

My period began yesterday and I nearly knocked myself out with painkillers. I get really bad back aches and stomach cramps on the first day to the point where, if I don't take painkillers, I can't do anything but bawl my eyes out in frustration. The usual painkillers I take are tailored for menstrual pains, but only dull the pain and don't get rid of it completely.

I don't usually fool around with painkillers, but yesterday I was just so tired of being in pain I took the painkillers I had left from when I had surgery a couple of months back. And it felt so awesome to be completely without pain that when the effects started wanning I took another one, even though it had only been a few hours since the first one. Let's just say that I will never, ever do that again. Scariest thing that happened to me in a good while.

Fucking periods.

I found out today that the place-that-didn't-hire-me that said they found someone else to fill the position is advertising for the exact same position again, a week later. I don't know if pissed off is the correct response, but it's all I've got.

That sounds kind of sketchy and I think you dodged a bullet.

You think they took the new guy's kidney and need another one? I didn't think it looked shady, but everyone I've told so far has had the same "dodged a bullet" response... Hmm.

that's really awful -- I can imagine how you feel! I'd be really fucking angry, so I guess "pissed off" is close enough.

maybe it just didn't work out with that person/they didn't take the job?

This is something to consider. That shit happens all the time where the person you hire doesn't even show. hell, I've been that guy. You put in multiple jobs on a hunt, sometimes you accept one and get a better offer the next day (those are good days). I had the decency to call in, mind. But it might be worth trying again.

Aw, she was cute. I'm sorry.

It was average. I worked all day and a coworker brought drinks and donuts, which was kind of awesome.

plan for future: work at a place where coworkers bring drinks and donuts!!!

Bad health day for me and the girlfriend. She spent all day in bed half-passed out and coughing, which triggers my misophonia which means I spent all day in bed cringing and trying to fight back nausea and screaming. At least my job (I telecommute) was light, which meant that I didn't have to do anything that actually required any brainpower whatsoever while dealing with negative spoons.

But then this evening I started doing a little better and managed to finish another detail of my current cosplay project. Man, do I love cosplay projects that involve bizarre engineering and prosthetics. I feel so much more awesome now than I did two hours ago. :D

I hope you're both feeling better soon!

I'm sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful cat and very lucky to have had an owner who cares for her as much as you do.

Me, I've been feeling pretty rough for the last couple of days, and I'm feeling worse today. I went to my classes anyway, but had a nasty dizzy spell in the middle of the first one, followed by an asthma attack, a headache and a wave of nausea, so I had to skip the second one. Luckily, I have the same professor for both classes and he was very understanding about it. Right now I'm eating a sleeve of saltines and chugging ginger ale, which seems to be helping so far.

I'm sorry about the crummy end to you day. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

I dealt with my first class of Kindergarteners. The youngest I've dealt with before this was second graders. So it was interesting. They all seemed very surprised that I had a mother and that I did not have children. They were also excited by everything. Literally everything. Oh my gosh. Cute and smart but it's like herding cats. As for the teacher, she seemed so surprised that I was able to correct papers, lead lessons, and do testing. I think she was expecting someone with less experience or something. It felt nice to be her pleasant surprise for the day. I got asked back.

But I'm so fucking tired. I canceled dinner with my dad because I can't bring myself to go out tonight. I'll have dinner with him later this week.

today was a pretty stressful day at work but I came home and made tomato sauce and the friend who was helping me make them brought fresh apple pie over to eat yum yum.

I'm currently sitting in a small lecture theater waiting for the English lecturer to come in. It's 8:18 am here and yet I really feel much more awake than the last few days.

Also, sorry for being curious, but is it true that Catalonia will be having a referendum next year?

Unfortunately, I'm only Catalan by heart and am not 100% up to date on all the political things there right now, but maybe this article will help you?

It's never nice when you get a sudden reminder that they're gone like that(my four months after reminder was oddly not during Aristocats itself but the mini cartoon afterwards that showed Minnie lovingly doting on her kitty, I just broke down into tears it was so weird), I hope you feel better tomorrow.

PMS is hitting for me today too so soon I shall be curling up in bed to watch something I like.

Mine was pulling out an old favorite book some time after my favorite cat died and remembering that she was the one who left those tooth marks on the cover.
