I watched a documentary on this once and the guys who owned them seemed really sad, to me. They were cripplingly insecure and couldn't handle even talking to a woman. They liked real dolls because the dolls weren't a threat. It's been a while since I watched it to I can't recall exactly what they said, I just remember being angry at first and then feeling really sorry for them.

Are these things heavy? Because I think it would be a pain to have to lug it off the bed whenever I wanted to change the sheets and then lug it back on again. I remember that manga, I think it was being published in English in Shoujo Beat for a while. It was this weird blend of hilarious and creepy. In the end I just quit reading it, the story just hit my second-hand embarrassment squick too hard.

LOL, same here. I started reading it in high school, and just... stopped for a while. I feel like I might have finished it at some point, but I don't remember....?! Not sure how I feel about the fact that I can't remember if I finished it, or how it even fucking ended.

I wouldn't want a sex robot that looked like a real human - male or female. I would want them to look mecha enough to avoid Uncanny Valley. Also, I consider some Transformers really pretty.

I think I wouldn't have an issue with RealDolls if they didn't look so human. I wouldn't make fun of their owners as they seem to be very depressing individuals who often have social issues, I'm just creeped out by the entire concept of having sex with something that looks like a human but can't react or interact. Like I said, Uncanny Valley.
