(Anonymous) 2013-10-03 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)It's just that they were prolific but horrible.
I suspect that there are a lot of people who really aren't writers who actually do produce a lot specifically because they don't have any kind of internal quality-control.
None of them could take criticism or improve, though.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-04 12:08 am (UTC)(link)A friend of a friend once literally shoved his novel into my hands within two minutes of meeting him.
Oh god, it was the most amazingly bad thing I've ever read. Like, it was literally incomprehensible. I read it all the way through, and I still have no clue what it was about, except that there were robots in it.

That made me laugh. Sorry.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-04 02:37 am (UTC)(link)It was hard back with a MSRP of $25.
I couldn't get through the first chapter due to all of the basic grammatical and spelling errors. Forget the lame premise. It took me a week to figure out how to let her down without causing him problems at work.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-05 12:52 am (UTC)(link)Saying that you don't have much of a right to call yourself a writer if you never finish anything ever is not presuming to be "the emminece on who is or isn't a writer," or some sort of Writer God. That's because finishing something, sometimes is such a pathetically low place to set the bar. How the fuck do you call yourself a writer if you never finish your work? Answer me that.
Also, there's no such word as "emminece." Were you trying to say "eminence"? How cute.

Also, the main reason I almost never write is that I know I am exactly that sort of person.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-08 04:08 am (UTC)(link)This is why I don't call myself a writer.
