It's fantasy. There are going to be ~*~magical~*~ things that aren't biologically or physically realistic. Totally different category than the skill or an actress or the personality of a character. Those things CAN be better/more realistic.

No shit, but this secret doesn't say anything about why this chick is any better for Dany.

How is an actress who doesn't share physical characteristics with Dany because NO ONE DOES somehow more fitting than Emilia Clarke, who is fabulous in the role IMO (as someone who LOVES Dany in the books)? Also, I have no idea who this is.

Ryan Newman. She's 15, which makes her closer to Dany in the books than Emilia Clarke who's 26.

fwiw, seconding the Clarke love (finally escaped the cave and saw the series last week.)

Actress no one seems to have heard of and who shares no resemblance to the character she's supposed to play is better qualified fir the job? Eh, you might need to try a little harder to convince us. (But do try.)

Not OP but the actress is closer in age to the character in the books. Emilia Clarke is almost thirty, Dany starts out in the series at age 13.

Before Emilia, Tamzin Merchant was originally cast as Daenerys.

Idk, Emilia isn't the greatest actress, but she works as Dany.

I still wish that recast hadn't happened. Emilia is okay but I think Tamzin could have made me actually like/care about Dany, based on other roles I've seen her in.

I'm glad they recast her.

Not with those massive eyebrows.

Or they could have picked an actually blonde actress so we wouldn't have to look at fugly black eyebrows on a character with ~silver-blond hair~ all the time. (Nothing against black eyebrows on, you know, dark-haired people, but I'm sick of brunettes getting cast as blondes and then getting wigs/dye jobs without dyeing their eyebrows.)

I dunno, a lot of people who have really light hair have really hard to see eyebrows...that's probably why, really. So the expectation of eyebrows is fulfilled.

Game of Thrones has lots of powerful eyebrows.

Soairse Ronan in Hannah, I'm not sure if they dyed her eyebrows for the role, but they were striking in close-ups.

Also, it seems The Hobbit again ran out of budget and couldn't dye Legolas' eyebrows

I'm a natural blonde. It was white-bright blonde when I was a kid, and it darkened a little when I got older- and I have always had massive black-brown eyebrows.

Not that Dany shouldn't have silver eyebrows, because she should. But blonde hair + very dark eyebrows =/= impossible.

I'm a blonde and that drives me nuts. Jumps right out at me. COLOR THAT SHIT.

Funny thing: Before reading the comments on this thread, I thought "But she looks way too old for that".

See, I know my age-estimating abilty is shitty, but that's really not a photo that makes me think the chick's 15.

Emilia is actually awesome, not just on TV but live as well.
