ohhh momiji ;_; That made me cry so much too. He's the only reason I even keep up with Fruits Basket anymore. I hate just about every other character in that series (save for Haru), but GAH I LOVE MOMIJI.

But...I like the anime better BECAUSE Legato isn't in the stupid box! ;_; And I like to pretend that his backstory is more interesting than the one the manga gave him :D

But if it makes you feel better, I read somewhere that Vash's actor in the anime was a big fan of the manga himself!

My God, I could have written this secret. The books have been apart of me for more than half my life (I'm 19 now) and there are very few who I can talk about it freely too. Just know that you're not alone :D

32 - Tough. I read the manga, didn't really like the art. I've read a bit of it, and while good, it doesn't anywhere justify your bashing the anime as much as you did. Go BAWWWW and cry me a river, the anime fucking rules. And Wolfwood's death is awesome in any medium.

Word. That was the first (and probably only) character death in anime that really had an effect on me.

31. OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG. Iron Chef secret. This made my day/week/month.

I love Sakai, but not like that...although I do have a weird thing for Masahiko Kobe (love his outfit, love the way he always makes a mad dash up to the stand at the beginning, love the way he beats octopi into submission with daikon radishes, love how he has his own little platform with a string quartet, etc.)

Fuck, I need an Iron Chef icon. I love that show so much...

Masahiko Kobe is made of win as well, I must admit - although I do miss Morimoto too cause he was badass. Chen Kenichi makes me want to squish him, he's adorable.

But Sakai wins for me because he always looks like he's having a really amazing time when he's cooking. (And the way he was so freaked out and ginger about handling live octopus was hilaruous too!)

32: I ♥ you. Seriously. The manga is so much better than the anime, and I'm much the same way as yourself.

Also, as a note to anyone unfamiliar with the fandom who's throwing a fit over supposed elitism: the anime was made first as a project loosely based on the first two books to see if there was enough interest to actually pay Nightow for the story. Those of us who claim the manga is better are NOT engaging in an act of elitist bashing of the anime, we're simply wanting people to discover the actual story, since it's a lot deeper than the anime would seem.

I know I don't view anime fans as bad or lesser, but I DO see people who've only seen the anime and base their characterization/make their judgments on it alone much like someone who reads the advance for a book, decides the advance is the best evah!!!11/teh suck and refuses to read beyond it, or much like fans of, say, Lord of the Rings find movie-only fans to often not get the meaningfulness of the books.
