I think most sexuality is way more complex then simple clumping everyone into: straight, gay, bi, asexual. There's so much involved, including like you said, fear and pride and a whole slew of other social and psychological elements, and everyone's individual personal experiences.

But I don't know, I've never heard of someone turning down a guy with that as an excuse. But damn, that would work. If he's running into it quite often.... makes me wonder XD

Are you annoyed that people automatically 'assumed' that the secret maker was talking about Tezufuji because you feel its seen as a 'default ship' by lots of biased fandommers? Because if so, the reason we all thought it was about Tezufuji is because those two figures were the only ones in colour against a black and white Seigaku. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding your point. (v. probable)

that is to say, if she were still interested in a 'romantic' relationship that apparently asexuals are supposedly still all for, she wouldn't have turned them down cold. if she were not interested in ANYTHING AT ALL, then using the I'M ASEXUAL GTFO is an excuse, instead of just saying "No thanks, not interested."

I have been there and done that in non-Megacon circumstances. I know how painful and frustrating it can be to be so in love with someone who can't return that particular type of affection. I hope you're able to find a way to deal with your emotions for her and enjoy the deep level of your friendship.

why do people use being asexual for not being in any relationship? being asexual or bisexual or homosexual or heterosexual is not an excuse if you just aren't interested in someone.

yeah, the attraction to the correct gender may be a contributing factor but is it really necessary to tell someone 'no, not interested, I'm gay/straight/bi/a'?

grow a spine and just say 'flattered, thanks but not interested'.

3. I know! I loev you Mr. Smith, and it would have made his involvemt in Ivalice games complete (since he was involved in FFTA and FF12 and VS) but alas. Joseph Reeder (his partner in FF12) was creditted in the FFT localization and he definitely takes after Alexander, and the translation turned out gorgeous, so I AM OKAY.
