I want to comment but i detested Willow pretty quickly and will only devolve into a rant that nobody wants to read. But, yes 'magical addiction', meaning - addicted to candles and herbs and whatnot was bout the *most stupid* thing ever.

I'd read it. And probably agree with 95% of it. The Willow adoration that goes on in fandom completely escapes my understanding.

*falls on your neck*

Yeah, it's kinda beyond me, too. She just...kept doing incredibly icky and questionable things and nobody called her on any of it. That and the 'don't you trust me?' whine every time she tried to do magic that was dangerous and advanced.

Not about *trust*, jayzus. It's about knowledge and ability.

Right? Or how she turned an argument about doing too much magic with Tara into whether she was truly a lesbian or not in Tough Love?

She made her girlfriend writhe with guilt because she wanted to avoid the real problem. What an awesome gal.

THIS! THIS! And oh-so-blithely *invaded her mind* and bent her to her will, over and over and over again. It was so incredibly icky i could not believe it.

Tara told her at the start of Tabula Rasa that altering her memories was akin to what Glory had put her through in s5, and Willow so earnestly promised she'd ease up on the magic using. And the very next scene after the credits was Willow blithely using magic once again to rape Tara's mind once again. This was waaaay before they retconned it to addiction, so how does one watch Willow so eagerly violate the minds and free will of her friends and STILL find something worthwhile in her character?

Magic was Willow's tool, like computer hacking used to be, never her master.

I'd read it. Buffy was before I had access to internet, and none of my friends watched it, so I was all alone in my dislike of her.

Aww!

Yeah, she was just...too goody-goody on the outside, and then all these nasty, questionable things and whining about Buffy not being *thankful* for dragging her out of heaven and TARA....
Blech.

Thisss

Especially the wide-eyed, I'm-such-a-good-girl-why-don't-you-trust-me? looks. I wonder if it's a staple thing for the actor, too, cause from what I saw of How I Met Your Mother, her character there acts a lot like Willow.

It amazed and irked me when I finally got to the online Buffy fan that apparently as a geeky girl I *must* like her. I don't get the appeal at all.

I've seen bits of HIMYM and she doesn't seem to be acting *too* differently, which...meh. I don't get the appeal of that show, either, heh, so i don't worry about it too much.

It's funny, 'cause my SO thought Willow was/is awesome and omg, watching old eps i just sit there rolling my eyes at nearly all her scenes.
