Something that #9 reminded me of. Orlando Jones submitted himself to yourfaveisproblematic on tumblr. That makes him awesome in my book.

Why would submitting yourself to 'stop liking what I don't like- the blog' awesome in any concievable way?

IDK, but if you ask me anything Orlando Jones does is automatically awesome. Seriously, have you seen that guy's tumblr? He's so far down the fandom rabbit hole he's putting the rest of us to shame.

It's a joke to him.

I hate that blog. It's the one thing OJ has done that I haven't found amusing, so I'll give him a pass on the stupid.

That tumblr is sooooo fucking stupid. Goes back to the black/white vision of celebs. That said, I would love for them to try and find something problematic about Tom Hiddleston.

Give it time, he can only be in tumblr's good graces for so long(not that I want the tumblr shit-storm to hit him but I'm kind of waiting for it to happen).

I'm kind of waiting for it too. He's going to say something and then it'll spiral out of control.

Hm. They HAVE said people were problematic for some of the roles they take.

They think appearing as a fictional character who does "problematic" things, even if they make sense in context and are even portrayed as BAD, makes the actor portraying that character equally problematic. Like John Slattery doing blackface and singing "Swanee" in Mad Men is listed. Context is NOT for the weak and characters ≠ their actors.

They tried. Do you remember when he did that food thing for charity? There were all sorts of people being like "OMG HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IT'S REALLY LIKE TO LIVE ON A DOLLAR A DAY, HE'S APPROPRIATING STARVATION!!!!" (no, really, that was the argument)

Everyone forgot about it in about five minutes. Apparently Tom Hiddleston is immune.

How on earth do you appropriate starvation? O_o

Oh yeah and didn't he said something vaguely bland and cliche about not giving up on your dreams and people were complaining about only privileged people getting to have that kind of thinking?

They're already starting. There was some kind of post about how people should stop liking him because all of the reasons they like him are because he had a privileged upbringing only white english dudes get that allows him to be so joy and sunshine filled and shakespeare-knowing and fawning over him like he's special reinforces stereotypes that privileged people are inherently better instead of just lucky. IDK I kind of rolled my eyes and kept scrolling.
