You should start with the first episode, but I would strongly advise against entering the fandom before, at the very least, watching episode 22. Untagged spoilers abound everywhere, which is why I'd also recommend reading the last ten or so chapters of the manga after you finish the anime. There's a lot of wham stuff in that series, but if you're just interested in the basic setting+characters and could care less about the spoilers, manga reading isn't necessary.

It's all on crunchyroll, too, which operates under the same basic idea as Hulu (episodes with commercials.) It's pretty easy to find streaming, and free.

I know a place aside from CR, but I'm not sure what this comm's policy about links to legally questionable material.

/is considering starting SnK herself, but needs to work on her Secret Santa fic first...

FS has no policies as far as I'm aware, but don't link if you don't feel comfortable. I'm sure OP is capable of using Google and Filestube and such on their own. :)

I'm kind of excited you're thinking about starting SnK, though, if I can say that? You generally have pretty good comments, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you thinl/

I'm ok with it, I just didn't want to break the F!S rules.

Awww, thanks!
Though like I said, I kinda have other things to do at the moment, so it'll be late this month or early next before I start.

That's just going to confuse OP because the manga is far, far beyond where the anime stopped. Talk about huge spoilers...

AYRT

Holy crap, I didn't realize the manga had made it all the way to chapter 51! For reference to anyone who cares, the anime left off on chapter 34 (so 17 chapters behind instead of 10, as of right now). If you read 34 to 44, though, you'll get most of the "common" spoilers that happen after the anime.

And that's why I recommended they read it, actually--I know from experience that it's really easy to stumble across those spoilers in fanfiction, so they'll probably be spoiled one way or another. Times like this, I wish fandom labels made a distinction between manga and anime like they do with comics and comics-based movies.

Very true. If you want to avoid big spoilers, stay away from fandom!! And even just google searching about the series in general
