Upcoming TV seasons you're dreading

(Anonymous) 2013-12-21 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
So, of the shows whose new seasons will start up in 2014...which are the ones you're really not looking forward to?

Sherlock season 3. Duh. I'll have to bow out of Holmes fandom for the duration of the season to avoid the flailing and invasions it'll incur.

Omg yes. The things I see on my tumblr dash horrify me. Plus, I've read an extensive and super spoilery description of The Empty Hearse, and I have a really, really bad feeling about some of the plot twists.

I have no idea if I want to watch season 3 or not. Sherlock, the character, annoys me so much, but I like parts of the show and it's going to be all over my dashboard anyway so I figure I might as well know what's going on.

Ugh yes. Especially when they're about to get their paws all over Charles Augustus Milverton, one of my favorite characters and stories. No doubt there'll be annoying reversals of the things that made me like the story in the first place. Like, say, Holmes's altruism-mixed-with-rivalry that spurs him into burgling and Watson forcing Holmes to make him take him along will be thoroughly dismissed as stupid and replaced with something frustrating or insulting that makes me dislike them both.

/will gladly eat my words if I'm wrong, but I can't help the dark musings...

I've been trying to stay optimistic about series 3, but there are so many ways an adaptation of Milverton can go wrong.

The rest of Supernatural. Not really a new season but I am not looking forward to it at all since I have decided not to watch it.

Hannibal because no matter how much I blacklist it will continue to show up.

While I'm continuing to watch Supernatural I agree about Hannibal. I have no interest in it and even though I tumblr savior it I still see some of it on my dash.

A part of me is really afraid of Teen Wolf's return because I don't want 3B to be as awful as 3A. Also, I don't want Derek to die, and I'm terrified he will.

What are you saying?!? Derek cannot die! Are there spoilers? Do you have secret knowledge that will make me hate Jeff Davis? Telll meee.

Re: Upcoming TV seasons you're dreading

No no, its just a feeling. I know the show is going to try to make Scott and Derek closer, and make Derek into more of a hero figure, but they never seem to know what to do with Derek if they aren't killing everyone he loves or making everything his fault, so I just assume if something good happens to him or if he grows as a character he's going to die. Plus Davis has already said some cast members aren't returning, and while the majority of those are probably smaller characters, I wouldn't put it past him to kill off Derek.

Plus Tyler said he had exciting news to tell on Twitter, but now wasn't the right time. So maybe they killed him off and he got another gig. D:

Just. "Korra".

Honestly I feel predictable saying it, but I don't think I've been so let down in something for years. The dread I feel for that blasted love triangle and the lack of character growth. The show has done a great job in making me dislike nearly everyone :(

The rest of this season's The Walking Dead is going to fucking ruin me but I'm going to watch it anyway because I have a problem.

I think that I'm going to pretend that the series ended. There are only so many hours that I'm willing to watch people act like idiots for the sole purpose of creating drama.

Yeah, I've tried to many times to watch that series but every episode I was like - "Wait, why are you doing this? You've been at this for a year and you haven't got this figured out yet!? Do you not know forsight!?"

Then I turn it off.

Yes. Yes, this.

vikings

(Anonymous) 2013-12-22 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
on one hand, I love the characters and most of the fandom; on the other hand, the end of season one was a steaming pile of shit and I don't trust the writers to not blow season 2 as well. Also the fact that they cast a *much* older actor for one of the characters who was a kid in season 1 means that they're just going to leap ahead in time after all the drama in the last ep. Typical pacing for Michael Hirst :\

Re: vikings

(Anonymous) 2013-12-22 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh, same. I'll watch it, because I'm super invested in Floki and Bjorn and gdi Wardruna is one of my favorite bands. I loved the show at the beginning of season 1(yay protagonist with an interesting moral code, yay relatively accurate portrayal of the early practices of my religion) but the end was such a massive trainwreck.

On the other hand the timeskip will allow them to explore Lagertha's role as the badass leader she became after divorcing Ragnar, assuming they continue sticking semi-close to historical sources.

Re: vikings

(Anonymous) 2013-12-22 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
I loved Vikings, even though I don't think it was very good. Does that make sense? It was awesome to watch, but the script was bad and the episodes weren't great either - some felt really awkward and confusing.

That being said, yeah. Lagertha is my soul mate, and I even like the protagonist. Season 1's end bugged the shit out of me but I guess they're loosely trying to follow the historical story.

Kind of nervous about The Mentalist.

I'm wondering what they're going to do now too, and I'll be honest part of me is expecting them to go 'lol that wasn't Red John either, got you again!'. Do they have another season lined up after this one or is the second half going to finish it all off?
