I still must see this. Every time I see a Hobbit post, I get sad inside.

I have low expectations for the romance aspect and fandom seems to be torn on the matter. Glad you enjoyed it tho, OP. (I would love to see some Tauriel bending to kiss Kili art, I can't lie.)

Hahaha, the first one is beautiful. I hope Tauriel/Kili brings about more Legolas/Gimli; it was the original and will probably always be my favorite. However, these pieces of art are all ridiculously adorable (the kiss! Awwww, I want more of that) and if the fanart is anything like the movie material then I'm on board.

I'd love some more Legolas/Gimli. It is truly an under appreciated ship. I'm on board too, if fanart replicates even a fraction of their movie romance.

That of course, was me.

I'm glad to not be alone in the Legolas/Gimli love. Back when I was in LOTR fandom I expected SO much Legolas/Gimli fic and art, and was severly disappointed in the lack of it. Anything that brings more of it into the world is a good thing.

They are ridiculously cute in the movie. It feels a bit kitschy or shoehorned for some, but I liked it. Kili sees her killing nasties like it's going out of style and he has stars in his eyes, although he was a bit shocked at first because she showed some prejudice towards him. He's sweet, a bit innocent because he's so young, and yet he knows, and she knows, that there are some things they can't have because of who and what they are.

I don't know, for some it was too corny, but I thought it was very sweet and bittersweet at times, especially when you know how the third movie will end.

The only way I would have a problem with it is if PJ focused all reaction to Kili's death on Tauriel. (Which I don't think has a chance of happening.)

We need Fili and Kili dying beside each other, desperately trying to hold hands, and Thorin witnessing from afar and crying out in anguish, then Tauriel can have her moment of woe. (I just really like angst, okay?)

But I can definitely see the appeal of it, certainly after hearing about their interactions, even if ~it can never be~.
