(Anonymous) 2013-12-29 01:07 am (UTC)(link)ugh i'm not big on the starks either. they're too caught up in their honor and then fucking ned just made stupid decision after stupid decision. i couldn't get behind him in either the tv series or the books. he meant well and all, but jfc he fucked up too many times.
i hate stannis more than just about any of them though. he's a complete cheat. like not only do you kill your brother, but you do it through someone else's black magic and you don't even have to see him die. put on your big boy pants and face your opponent in fair combat, stannis.
dany is my first choice for the iron throne. renly was my second choice. robb was actually my third. i liked robb, despite his various poor decisions. he was fiercer and more cunning than poor ned, imo.
besides dany, all we have left are douchebags.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-29 01:22 am (UTC)(link)It's ironic that you call Stannis a cheat but you supported Renly for the Iron Throne. Renly had no lawful claim to the throne. He just wanted it and he was able to get powerful allies to support him because as single man he could marry their daughter and make her queen. What kind of precedent does that set? If he'd become king, how would he enforce inheritance laws that he himself had actually ignored?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-29 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)well... stannis is a cheat (and a fucking coward). not to mention he had no claim to the crown either, since robert was an usurper. the only one with rightful claim to the thrown is dany.
so blaming renly for not having the claim to it feels kinda empty when in truth stannis has no greater claim to it.
.
(+ i wouldn't ever want a king that gets his own brother murdered.)

(Anonymous) 2013-12-29 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)She's made some mistakes, and is until the end of book 5 stuck in a horrible position of her own making, but she is still a better person than Stannis AND more interesting.
At least she doesn't burn her in laws and people at the stake who have done her no harm.
