I love Death Note to death (rofl no pun intended?), guys, but even I think this is getting to be a bit much. I even agree with some of the various secrets, but at the same time? This is stuff you can put in your own journal, people! There's really NO NEED to post about it on fandomsecrets! If it's some pairing someone made up? JUST IGNORE THE PAIRING. Defriend this "peron's" journal people are apparently trying to get said recognition in!

Stuff like this makes me want to pull out. It's embarrassing. Kind of gives the intellectual series a bad rep, you know? I'm not one for putting out my opinion like this, but yeah.

FUCKING SIGNED. I hate that comm, but I actually keep track of it so I can see if people in the RP(s) I moderate happen to post there. There is no reason why players can't consult the moderators about a problem within the RP, and there is absolutely no need to drag in people who a) have nothing to do with it, and b) don't know the entire situation. 8|

It hasn't effected my opinion of RP in general, but it depresses me to know that people don't want to approach me with any issues they may have.

13. My RP partner has done the same thing. Not because another left us - because she found a new one who doesn't like me.

And you know, I thought our friendship meant a lot and could survive no RP. But no RP is different than abandoning someone the way she has to me. If she had told me she wanted to end stuff, I'd have found someone else, and been happy still. But she didn't.

Don't think that your friendship was weak just because it couldn't stand your friend leaving you hanging - leaving a person hanging is way, way more trying than just not RPing together.

35. On one hand: yeah, seeing horrible porn of your creations is bad.

On the other: What the heck made him think his stuff was immune to Rule 34? I can understand if he didn't know what it was, but it's not like they're discreet about what the site is for. And it's not like people don't know that the internet has strange and horrible porn on it anymore. If you don't want to know the horrible things the internet is doing to your creations don't look for what they're doing, since it's almost guaranteed that they are doing horrible things. And pitching a fit over it won't help, since the people making the really messed up stuff are also pretty much guaranteed to not give a fuck.

It's messed up, but unless you, 35 OP, have never made/looked for any fandom porn, you don't really have a leg to stand on.

19--I am so tired of people saying that someone ruined a series for them. The only way that can happen would be if they gave away some significant plot point that ruined the suspence or ending. If people fangirl/bitch/riducule to much you can always avoid them. I had some friends that I had to stop watching Naruto with because they wouldn't stop bitching and making fun of my favourite character at the time. I simply refused to watch or discuss the series with them anymore. We've drifted now, but not just because of the show, because they were assholes, that was my first time really seeing that. But I didn't let them ruin the show or the character for me. (sorry for the tl;dr)

20--People are entitled to dislike things that you like. You don't have to be a bitch about it. I don't like One Piece either--it just didn't hold my interest, but I'm happy for you that you enjoy it.

Frankly, I'd probably be LESS willing to meet any of my fans if I were famous and someone pulled a stunt like that. It only takes a few bad apples to ruin a bunch before they go pre-Catholic conversion Anne Rice and Anne McCaffery on fan work. And I don't blame Butch Hartman either.

I would be happy to have fans who draw my stuff. But I would NOT be happy if someone took MY characters -ones that I've spent years developing into fully realized characters- and essentially drew them in grotesque pornography just to get their rocks off. Sure, I'll admit: I've done tasteful sensual artwork of my characters. But there IS a difference between the tasteful and the outright masturbation material shit you see on places like DA.

I'm no prude, but I DO have a fine line between good taste fan art and the sick pornographic/fetish stuff.

Though big 'corporation' shows/comics and anime/manga (where the copyright laws in Japan are fairly vague compared to America's) I can see where they turn a blind eye to porn fan art, although maybe for comics a writer may wag a finger or shake their head in disgust and sigh.

But when you have a more grounded/small fandom for something not so big -especially if it's a creator owned property-, I can understand 100% why he'd be upset. I don't see why that's so wrong?
