I feel pretty much the same about the less nice stuff. Like sure, everybody COULD go full evil, but it's nice to be nice! Why do it if there's no good reason? And if you're going to do it, better to know what you CAN do and do it for some good reason than flip out and scare yourself because you happened to get really mad one day and then regret it all later. :c

And if you're working in groups, sometimes somebody HAS to and good god meetings where people who are supposed to be experts! with decades of experience! and leading the conversation! just sit around going "ummmm" and acting awkward aeghsdjkfhkfhkfjhf

I pretty much live by the philosophy "It is much harder to not break the law than to break it", same with any social codes and such, it is harder to follow them all than to break them. Which is one of the biggest reasons to why I am for the most part one of the nicest and most polite person you will meet, but then I have days I just say screw it (or just reach a point when I just give up) and I can do a lot of damage with the knowledge I have, I always regret it, but yeah.

In addition to the fact that I actually enjoy being nice, because being nice is the correct thing to do.

Yup, I am mostly always the leader of whichever group I get put in, but I never volunteer, and if a leader presents him/herself I will follow as long as they do a good job. I don't get why people just can't take charge and get on with the jobs at hand, we all have the same damn information. ~~I get that it is different personalities and such, but I still get slightly annoyed~~

I'm that 20-something year old that's always sort of telling the 50-something year old people to get back on topic and telling them how/why their ideas don't work (they aren't quite in touch with the internet age, let's leave it at that), so I know what you mean, HAHA. I'm pretty sure they don't enjoy that much, but damn it we're there to do a job, not to be a hugbox! Then they get kind of confused when I'm perfectly amiable at them later - I wasn't criticizing THEM as much as their ideas or that one thing they did that one time, people tend to assume it's all personal. :c

I get what you mean! I don't either criticize people because I am annoyed at them as persons, only because they do something that I don't think is the best way of doing it. When the project/meeting/whatever finishes I am done with it.

I usually advance to leader positions pretty fast, I am Class President, used to be leader in the volunteer thing I did (and also the youngest person there) and people tend to automatically trust me, which came in handy when I worked as a Phone salesperson. I never go after leader positions on purpose, and I think I will prefer to be in middle management over anything else, I don't want to be on the top of the ladder, mostly in case something bad happens.

What's really funny to me is that I'm on the opposite end of that spectrum - because I tend to criticize without meaning anything personal, I take criticism that way...which means more than once, people have intentionally insulted me and I completely missed it. Namely, it would be something like calling me ugly, and I would shrug it off as just a commentary on my appearance, only to realize later that it was meant to be a commentary on ME as a person. Even when people called me "stupid", because I'm so used to needing to stop and account for people's emotional reactions, I default to assuming they are just saying that because they are frustrated with a bad idea I have right now. Most of the time, that's the case, but every now and then it turns out they weren't just reacting, they were actually insulting me as a person. o.O
