None of those things is okay. But people can put a stop to the latter two practices relatively easily without giving up their meat.

Personally I'm not against eating meat, but I do advocate for more regulation and more humane practices in the industry, both for the animals' sakes and consumers. The current state of affairs is disgusting on multiple levels.

Except that the rearing and slaughter of animals can be improved so that they live good lives and are killed humanely.
