Being asexual doesn't mean you can't appreciate how people look. Sometimes there are just someone who is so gorgeous that they take your breath away, no matter your sexuality.

I'm asexual too. Back when I was in AVEN forums there was a jokey thread of people we'd turn sexual for (in other words people we found irresistibly attractive). I'm pretty sure I answered young Patti Smith.

It took me a while to realize I was asexual because of that. There are lots of people I love to look at photoshoots of, I could get starry-eyed at their attractiveness all day, but as soon as I try to imagine having sex with them it's like why, why would I do that, please just pose prettily some more.

I don't really get the idea that being asexual means you can't recognize when someone is attractive?

Although I see it more as aesthetic appreciation, I guess.

Yeah, he's great. One of the things I like the most about him is that he doesn't really try to hide his receeding/balding hairline (a lot of actors -- and men in general -- would shave it completely off).

I am asexual and while I have in the past found certain people aesthetically attractive or not, this year was the first time I someone so breathtaking legit sexually attractive where I just want to stare at pictures of them and the mere idea of them puts a smile on my face and I imagine jumping them and omg.

It's weird, right? To suddenly go from nothing to OMG. Throws you for a loop and can be a bit confusing.

While not asexual, I totally understand where you are coming from. I feel like I did things 10 years too late. I was twenty eight when I saw a picture of an actor that made my heart do little flip flops and no celebrity before had done that and I was left going "I feel silly and a bit pathetic and where were you ten years ago when this was considered normal?"

Very confusing and I try not to look at pictures of him still even now, a few years later as to not feed the hungry beast and when I do see a picture unexpected like it makes me jump. Netflix ads are the worst for it. But yeah, smile on my face, can we snuggle and cuddle and have little snarky squabbles and *sigh* yeah. *goes to hide, pokes head back out* And no, it's not hormones.

Even though they say it jokingly, there are a few of my straight male friends who admit to crushes on men that are, if not overtly sexual, aren't just "man-crushes" because a guy is cool. I'm a gay man but there are a few women who I'd love to get it on with. A lot of other women I just find very pleasing to my eye and I have no problem saying that they're hot.

Sexuality can go a lot of different ways.

IT'S TRUE. I live with three dude friends, and even though they're all straight, the ENTIRE HOUSE has a boner for Statham. We were watching Crank 2 about a week ago and at one point I realized my eyes had glazed over with dreamy lust and I kinda snapped out of it, looked around the room, and all of the guys were exactly like that too

it's Statham. A person's usual sexual desires (or lack thereof) just simply mean nothing when he shows up. Everyone's got a few people like that - I like to call it a combo breaker
