Anon hasn't really given you the whole story there.

Most of them are catholics.

Seconded so hard. Lilly herself seems like a lovely human being in all her interviews and commentaries, but I don't think I have ever hated a character the way I hated Kate.

well, maybe it'll be treated with respect... that's what I hope, if he wants to reference September 11th And the tsunami.

I hope they'll keep a theme of atomic danger, maybe with Godzilla as avenger of nature vs. artificial nuclear monsters, because the arrogance of science hopefully stays a part of the story.
It would piss me off if they would just use the tsunami and not Fukushima if that's such an obvious way to stay true to a core element and say something meaningful, is what I'm saying.

I just do.
Same reason why mixing mustard with chocolate and mashed potatoes would probably gross me out.
Same reason why I don't want to look at diaper inflation porn.
It's just my brain's reaction to it.

Since number 7 is listed in the Secrets section as being too big, but it's not in the failbar, where does it go? Into the Secrets abyss?

After three years of mostly lurking, I should probably know the answer to this, but I don't.

I think you should've posted this is a reply (so it'd collapse), because someone's gonna get an epilepsy attack from that thing, yikes.

I switched from writing 90 percent fanfic to writing 90 percent original fiction around the end of 2012.

In some ways, I'm happier than ever, in other ways it's harder. The community isn't as supportive of less than perfect efforts, so you have to learn a lot quickly. But, if you can learn, and write a lot, and find your audience, you can make some money.

The money is really, really nice when you're poor. I also love the ability to write exactly the story I want to tell about exactly the characters I want to write. I don't have to fit into fandoms where I've so often felt like I wasn't wanted if I didn't write the exactly tropes or kinks that the important people liked or wanted.

They both have benefits. They both have costs. But honestly, if you're not motivated to write fanfic, you're not going to be motivated to write original. It takes longer (more editing required, more research and sometimes cost, etc.), and the first time you get slapped by a couple of one-stars because someone doesn't like your genre, or ignored, or read a really terrible review from someone who didn't even bother to read more than a sample of your story, or have your work pirated...yeah.

You really have to be motivated from inside. Money IS nice. Money helps us survive the real world. But it can't be everything, because there are always easier ways to get money. :)

Life's Little Annoyances

Alternative Title: First World Problems

What are some of those little things that annoy the hell out of you?

I hate when people leave drawers or cabinets slightly open. And my family is alwayssss leaving them slightly open (it looks like a lazy poltergeist is trying to scare me) and I have to go behind them and close them.

I also hate when you get to the last french fries in a bag (the kind you cook at home) and it is just a bunch of tiny fry parts (I eat waffle fries). :|

1. People aren't perfect.
2. I don't think she's really trying to change as much as Tumblr and fans want people to think she is.
3. She is constantly saying inappropriate/funny comments and it's usually written off as her wacky charm, I don't know why something like this wouldn't fall under the same thing.

I think they mean phlegmatic in the sense of relating to the "Four Humors", basically the medieval archetypes of personality/temperament.

almost did it but she didn't say "boobies" so I didn't...

this is a cute pic though :3

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
I agree so much. I'd be so willing to pay people to write the fics for me that I want to read. And I don't know if anyone likes my writing enough to pay me for it, but I find it kind of ridiculous that I can't even consider offering fic commissions while fanart commissions are considered perfectly normal.

I like sexy, I don't mind revealing clothing, but when it is fucking everywhere, and every damn character it's really annoying. It just seems I don't know somehow, really uncreative and like they were trying way too hard at the same time. I'm not sure if that even makes sense.

Same boat. I don't think I've ever been turned on when writing sex. I'm too busy trying to make certain someone didn't grow an extra penis. Yeah, I forgot they switched.

I'm smart and good at learning things. On good days, I think I'm pretty. I care a lot about people.

My roommate listening to music really loudly without headphones, knocking on my door so loudly that I get a huge adrenaline spike every time (low startle threshold), and making messes and then complaining about mine.

I mean all of those things are annoying but right now it's basically only my roommate doing them.

I also hate being in the shower and running out of hot water. :
