Not for a while, though, but it used to be A Thing. Especially when it came to shipping Hermione with anyone-but-Ron(-mostly Harry but not always).

(Anonymous) 2014-03-15 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)Well... I don't think that the trolls act like a famoly. They don't have a house, other children and last not but the least they're not human.

The most I can think is how Mrs. Weasley bought into the Daily Prophet column about Hermione and how initially she wasn't thrilled with Fleur (who, admittedly, was also being a bit of a snot. But they worked that out).

Did the ice cutters just never notice this orphaned kid running around with them? I know Disney looooves them some orphans but I just didn't get that one. He could've been friends with the trolls without being their adopted son, I dunno.
Other than that, I'm not sure I've seen these Weasley complaints.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-15 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)kidnapped"adopted" Kristoff) so I guess it's anybody's guess.I don't understand the argument against the Weasleys
(Anonymous) 2014-03-15 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)The Weasleys could not removed without it affecting the plot significantly. They're the first example of a true (not assholish and abusive) 'family' he ever encounters/becomes a part of, which is fucking crucial in Harry's character development

...Right.
I cannot see any good intentions in how the Dursleys treated Harry.
