I would say I think the headcanon interesting but I'm also having trouble with the concept of SHIELD and the MIB existing in the same world.

While I think it would be difficult for both SHIELD and the MIB to exist in the same world, on the other hand, I'd kind of love to see a big fat mashup with all those paranormal/alien/supernatural research/defense organisations (SHIELD, MIB, BPRD, X-Files, Torchwood, the guys from Warehouse 13 etc.) fighting over "who gets the monster-of-the-week-case this time" every time something happens. Not to mention all the groups working on their own, like the Winchesters or Buffy butting in as well all the time.

I've actually found SHIELD really interesting the last couple of episodes or so but I don't know how long a show can keep me hooked on making me go "holy shit!" at the end of an episode.

Err anyway, in spite of that - I'd watch the shit out of this secret because I love MiB.

But how did Col. Philips end up in MiB?

Is MiB a sub-branch of SHIELD, or a separate one? And why is Col. Philips just a field agent in MiB? Did he start MiB and then intentionally demote himself because he liked being in the field, or is he secretly still running MiB while occasionally going out into the field, or what?

Also, how is his aging slowed down?

And what's going to happen when Steve meets "Agent K"?

I wish I could accept this head canon, but I can't. Because I'm already convinced that Bob Newhart's character from "The Librarian" is Coulson's father.

Same flat affect. Same receding hairline. Same gift for understatement.
