Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

Nyxelestia seems like an intelligent and nice person, but her posts are so self-righteous and passive-aggressively smug that I can't even read them anymore, especially because no one calls her on it. She's caring, but she does act like she knows everything, but sometimes she doesn't actually know what she's talking about.

I like Chard and find Noodly very boring. This community needs more posters like Chard, because a lot of people here need to be reminded that you can be female and nerdy and still have opinions that differ from the hive.

Dethtoll is one of my favorite posters, and I think it is stupid that so many people pick on him, but I also think if he didn't immediately respond to his trolls by lashing out, they would have gotten bored and moved on by now. D:

I don't understand why we have anon regulars. Why aren't they registered by now? It's so weird.

I'm an anon regular. I actually have a DW account, and I was a registered user back when the community was on LJ. These days, though, FS is the only participatory fandom thing I do, and I don't want people from my old flist to realize I'm still kinda around.

That is a perfectly good reason to stay anon.

(You could always make a new name and not give away too much personal info, but that might not interest you.)

I have an account but like someone else said, I don't want some of my old fandom to recognize me. But the main reason I stay anon is because I hate things getting dragged up after the fact. "But you said this once! That means you're evil! Or it invalidates what you're saying now!" Or some such stupid thing. Some people here just can't let stuff go and will chase people away like has happened to some users just since we've been on DW.

I agree about nyxelestia. I skipped over her comments a lot before, though somehow I'm getting more tolerant of her attitude or maybe she's getting less insufferable

I don't have an account because 1) it's one more login to forget and then not be able to get into to change the password when the next big security threat hits the net (thanks, Heartbleed), and 2) I'm not always the calmest most totally rational person and I have in the past fallen for trolls, and it's just easier and safer not to have to remember to click anon (and risk it failing) or log out every time I make a post that's even vaguely emotional and risk having it dragged up again every time I say anything for the rest of my existence on f!s.

Maybe that's because most people don't find her smug and self-righteous? I definitely don't get that vibe from her. I really like her.

I could forgive the egocentric overtones until she made the "what is your opinion of meeeeee" thread. That was the most amount of secondhand embarrassment I have ever felt on this community. Again, I think she's probably a great person but I wish she was more self-aware.

Some anons seem to like ganging up on fs members for no real good reason (see dethtoll, etc). I think nyxelestia is fine, and doesn't seem passive aggressive and smug at all, idk

There are plenty of people like that here, anon. Chard isn't the fucking special snowflake that you're making her out to be. That sounds just as bad as the whole thing about "girl gamers" existing and that they're not the unicorns of the internet.

I have both a DW and an LJ account, but I prefer to stay anon, mostly just so I don't get backlash from some of my scathing opinions.

just a thought: maybe if more people with opinions that differ from the hive registered and had actual usernames, Chard wouldn't stand out as much!

I personally don't like logging in much, because it seems like everyone here likes to blow things way out of proportion, and construe some completely off-the-wall meaning from what is not actually there.

It got annoying, and I don't want those kinds of completely false accusations attached to my name, nor do I want to aggressively fight off the internet psycho-analysts (which I have had to do more than a few times) all the time.

It gets tiring.
It's simply easier to go anon.

I am an anon regular because like all anon communities, there is a nasty underbelly to fandomsecrets and I don't want any trolls following me home.

This isn't to say there aren't many very cool people here that I enjoy talking to. Nyxelestia is one of them.

I've thought about registering, but staying anon is just easier. I don't have to sign in. I don't get any backlash over things I've said that are taken out of context and/or have happened months ago.
