Reading these threads bums me out out because apparently no one cares enough about me to hate me or like me. And I'm a singed in regular. I guess I'm either not enough of an asshole or not nice enough. Story of my life online and off.

You don't know that. Some of us just don't post to these things because we find them tacky. If people are responding to you, they probably like you.

Oh, I've made plenty of effort, trust me. I'm kind of in the shadow of some of the "bnfs." :) I'm just feeling lonely and shitty today, I think.

It helps to talk to the other named users on other places. Most of them are friends outside of f!s too...

You are more likely to reply to someone you know a bit better than someone you don't if the comments are similar.

Yeah, I know I'm more formal with people I don't know very well because I don't know if they'd get my sense of humor or think I was being a jerk. But the only way to get to know them is by talking to them a lot (and, to be honest, going to the streams).

I'm the opposite. I've already picked a friend's brain on a topic, I already know what they think, so I don't know want to hear more of the same.

I'll join the rest of you in this ship. I tell myself it's better to be ignored than have people notice you because you are obnoxious.

ehhhhhhh i think all it really means is that nobody really, really hates you, since that's how this thread's leaning. i'm sure people like you. i'm sure i like you.

Were you in the compliments thread? I bet if your name came up, lots of people would recognize and like you. :D

I couldn't post that day, but typically I'm never mentioned in the "what posters do you hate/like" threads.

Me too, but the way I reason it is that I'm either not prevalent enough nor have a consistency that I would be known for. Then again, while I would love to be mentioned to stoke my ego, I don't actually want to have a sycophant or hate train.

And even though I like briefing these threads to see if anyone noticed me, and then feel a bit disappointed later, I get more disappointed when an obvious friend mentions me. There's something insincere about it, and I can't even bring myself to circle jerk in these threads in the first place.

This is actually exactly how I feel. Exactly.

I was actually surprised to be named in that thread when only like ten people were chosen. I think it's just the people that particular anon picked out.
