Oh please, just because things are relatively quiet now (in certain places, at least)? Not 20 years ago my parents were part of an actively oppressed race, so much so that they had to leave their country if they ever wanted a chance at anything. We live with the knowledge that even in the bright old USA, people can and probably will turn on us and blame us for whatever the country's ills are. Why?

Because eventually, inevitably, people will turn on the Jews. It's just what happens. The cycle has continued over thousands of years. Why do you think so many of us support Israel through thick and thin? Because we know that when they come around for us again, Israel is our only hope.

There are mild persecution complexes and then these is this.

And there are also some really awesome Jewish people and organizations who are proud of their heritage and yet recognize that many of Israel's actions are wrong. I have a good friend who is a Rabbi and yet is a leader in the BDS movement. It is possible to be Jewish and still recognize that Israel is mostly in the wrong here.

There are very few people who actually want to destroy Israel. Most people in the BDS movement accept that while Israel is absolutely a colonialist country, its as much here to say as America is. They are not calling for its destruction. They just want either Palestine to be recognized as a country with borders that are fair too or for there to be a single country where both groups are equally in the government and have equal rights and for Israel to stop what basically amounts to Apartheid.

Actually, history has shown that anti-Semitism tends to come in "waves". There will be a big "burst" of awfulness (such as the Spanish Inquisition or the Holocaust), then things will get better for a while and Jews will for the most part become fairly successful and respected members of society up until the economic/political situation starts to deteriorate, leading to the next "burst".

We're in an in between period right now, but I predict another "burst" will happen some time soon, if what's been going on in parts of Europe lately is any indication.

I can't tell if you're trolling or not.

In case you aren't, I might as well tell you that (to my knowledge at least) European Muslims don't really have anything to do with this. From what I've read, most of the trouble is coming from hardcore right-wing groups (most of which are probably Islamophobic as well as anti-Semitic).

I think the AYRT is referring to the more continent-wide-level stuff that is going down in the European Union right now, such as the right-wing supremacists in France, the Golden Dawn in Greece, and Svoboda and other right-wing parties that are now in power in Ukraine.

The Americans aren't too fussed about this situation however, because there is a majority in the USA that has the same or similar politics, although they don't have a majority government at the moment. In Canada, we do have them as a majority government at the moment, and they are every bit as scarily right-wing and white supremacist as Le Pen's party in France, if not worse, because they managed to gild the lily enough to hide their desire for politico-religious Dominionism from the voter base the last time around...if not 2015 as well.

TL;DR: You're referring to smaller-scale stuff. AYRT is talking big picture.

What, Muslims are persecuted now on Europe, not the Jews. The Jewish community is playing a big part in this wave of Islamophobia, if anything.

Number of Jews in the UK: around 250,000~

Number of Muslims in the UK: around 2,500,000~

Clearly, it's the Muslims who have it the worse in Europe, all thanks to those Islamophobic Jews!
